I can't say much more than others have already. Enjoy your game, do what you want to, don't do what you don't want to.

Prioritise what's really important for you to get done. Prioritise some "just for me" time (go and have a laugh with friends in game, work on your vanity, pick a new dye color that goes with your eyes lol)

Yes, there's lots we can do, but thank gods! It means I don't have to do the same things over and over, and have plenty of other things to go do in game to take my mind off how bored i was with x lol. Take it easy

I kind of do, but really, I think its more the time each thing I need to do will take that's the problem.
Decided to go back and push each class to 50 before doing anything else, so that's going to take a while.
Then I'd like to get my crafting and gathering back up to snuff (though I don't honestly know if its worth bothering at this point)
Then there's gearing out my retainers for the higher-level ventures (which goes with the above in the case of my botanist)
Working on my Animus (and later my Novus)
Farming for mounts (though this one is more of a want that will never actually happen since I still refuse to touch any high-level instances)
    etc.

With the time commitment each of these requires, they'll probably have bumped the scale twice on everything before I get finished with any of it. :-/

By this logic we should NEVER EVER bother playing any MMO because anything you do will become "obsolete" at some point.

Better having masses of options than not enough things to do XD

I was always of the impression that MMOs are supposed to be grindy and have time-sinks (basically artificially inflated content) to keep people logging in and playing.

Personally, I don't feel like all the content is perfect; however, I have plenty on my plate to do, and I'm happy with that. I think the bigger problem would be if I was logging in and literally found myself with nothing to do.

That's some pretty flawed logic. If I could, I'd give you the "worse logic" award on this forum. What's the point of even playing an MMO, like some have said, if you have an attitude like that? Why do any of it? An MMO is always about progression - about getting that new body armour, or new weapon from the next big update. By your logic, none of that is worth it.

You are right a mmo should always have new things to get from the next update.

This issue is when you are in a cycle.

Work to get BIS gear => Update (All gear is worthless) => Work to get BIs gear => Update (all gear is worthless) => Work to get BIS gear => Update (All gear is worthless) => Repeat

This is one reason so many people are quitting the game. The life cycle of gear and content is lower then any other AAA mmo out there. Yes SE is releasing patches fast and they are solid patches for the most part... but they are also negating everything just as fast which is really bad.

People want new rewards. But they also do not want other things they worked on to be worthless so fast. In my opinion all gear should last at the min. 1.5-2 yrs. Of course the issue is the game has ultra simplified stats, gear handouts in everything, and no time sinks outside relic quest.

Game needs horizontal growth badly. This vertical only progression is horrible.

In terms of the OP's topic, I suppose it's just another way to start another thread that makes zero sense, it may do to yourself on a personal level but for me 'on a personal level' I find the reasoning for starting this thread somewhat strange.

A MMO needs content to be able to sustain each variant of an individuals needs, there are those that go hardcore and want to do it all and there are those that will do what they can, above all just do what you enjoy doing the most and focus on that, then move onto the next slice of content, activities etc. If you find yourself being overwhelmed with things to do, be thankful you have the choices at your disposal to occupy your time.

Think back to being a fresh 50 (back at launch), where we only had 1 high end dungeon to grind on for Myth / gear. (yes we had Coil / Primals HM) but that was about it. A lot of people flaked due to the lack of content and a big hoohah about it all on these forums, now that SE have provided a stable flow of content in which the end user has the abilitiy to pick and choose how they wish to fulfill their night's worth of entertainment, we find a fault with it?

In relation to BiS being obsolete, I do agree with the statements that gear does become somewhat redundant very quickly in this game and it's less and less pertinent to actually "doing" a lot of the content as by the time you actually get the items you want, you'll only be able to enjoy them for a short period of time. But that being said the game and it's mechanics don't actually require you to be BiS, BiS is a user preference, as long as your accuracy capped etc then if you feel that strongly about BiS being obsolete, get your acc cap and then do other things that may actually spur some enjoyment out of you.

as for someone who just recently got all classes capped, I can say that there's still alot of stuff to do. At least it's not as overwhelming as in XI where it might be impossible to do alot there. lol

All of these doesn't matter and become moot point when someone keep poking on the 'time waste' thingie, since playing MMO itself are a waste of time to begin with and all achievements you got are just a vain after all. lol
