I made it clear I quit and that doesn\\'t bother me.

You might think the story is good . I don\\'t and never will .
I never found the story or the world engaging at all.
I hardly think that\\'s my fault because I played ff11 and wow and I found both engaging
It sure sounds like it IS bothering you. If it didn't bother you, you would've quit and stepped away. Instead you come in here after you quit and cry like a baby because of your OWN personal feelings. And then agrue with people who disagree. You seem to have a serious addiction problem. MMOs may not be the right type of game for you. If you're looking for someone to hold your hand as you leave you're probably not going to get. So to end...good bye and "Can I have your stuff?"

You mean the English version doesn't have this?
Yes, the disclaimer is there when the game loads, and it does say to not forget about your real life.

I thought it was kind of funny the first time I loaded v1.0 and that disclaimer came up. But I now see that the possibility is quite real.

Was only during 1.0 here, not in ARR

There is no disclaimer like this in the English version, and now when you select your character it tells you how many days you've played and how many days are left to your next veteran reward. So in the English version they dangle that gysahl green on the fishing pole.

Mainly because video games, especially MMOs, are by nature addictive.

When I played FFXIV 2.0 when it first came out. My friends and I blazed through the content. There were four of us, covering all the roles needed so dungeon queues were instant and we were confident that everyone in the party knew what they were doing. Fast forward a bit, we're in darklight and relic +1 and... what do we do? Get another 4 and do Coil once a week? Login once a week and do a single dungeon? Nope wasn't worth a month cost. We left.

Now with 2.3 we have returned. Now we have mucho content to do. We don't personally feel there is too much to do. In fact we have a great variety of things to do daily and weekly. And we love it. You have to put it in perspective. Just because everything is available doesn't mean you have to do it all at once. If your FC is expecting you to keep up... get a new FC. My friends that I normally play with won't tell me to keep up. They know better.

What I do have a problem with, and every MMO does this, is weekly lockouts. Why the heck is there one top dungeon with a lockout in every major patch, of every major game? Its like they only want us to login once a week once we get to the top. That mechanic needs to go away. I want to play like I did, as often, as meaningful, and advancing myself like I did at level 2 with a stick for a weapon, as I do at level 50 with all BiS gear. I don't know how they would do it, but thats why they get paid to be developers, they need to make it happen.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a lot more small group, open world content. For those of us that don't bother with Coil or Circus Tower, the world gets a bit boring after a while.

Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.

    Nice attempt at trolling.

    I haven't logged in in at least 3 weeks . I doubt I have a addiction.
My above response was to somebody who attacked my original post
I only posted here to voice my opinion on this one subject

Then you go on to attack me about not being suited to mmo's .. cute , between 11 and wow I have 5 years
Quit because this game is substandard and boring not because it's too hard

You can't have my stuff, enjoy your substandard mmo , bye

What do other MMOs do in comparsion to what ARR seemingly doesn't to keep you interested at the end game?

I'm by no means an MMO buff, so I'm asking this as an honest question. I do feel ARR endgame feels kinda dry after awhile and find myself often using it as an FF skinned chatroom, but I also am fully aware I'm a lazy ass and given this game is meant to be a way to spend my free time I will completely avoid doing things I don't find interesting/fun as I have a huge backlog of other games to play as well.

    Oops.

    I have the Japanese version and there is a big disclaimer that comes up at the start of the game... but I never really read it. ^^;
I read it now and the disclaimer just talks about internet data transmission and legal matters -- not a reminder about forgetting your real life.

The Japanese version has this as well, but it says how many days you've subscribed and how many more days to your next reward.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread!
