As I get better at it, I actually kinda start to like it. My friends and I will get into VOIP and make a day of it at times, hunting together and just cracking jokes as we go, talking about life and socializing. That's perhaps been the best thing about this piece of content - it doesn't require a lot of concentration or focus. I can socialize with my friends, make stupid jokes, and just... play, without worrying about some rediculous mechanics that can one shot my entire party save 'do not stand in the giant red circle' and 'counter manuevers.' =p

I really want to make a drinking game for hunting, though...

Shouts about 'early' pulls? Take 1 shot.
'dead' call in LS without any calls? Take 1 shot.
Someone else gets a book drop? Take 1 shot.

Liver poisoning in no time. Great way to get wasted.

There is nothing wrong with this type of content but the question is, Should the best rewards come from this type of content?

Players in the "Horde PT's" are getting full credit for very minimal effort (1 or 2 hits) because of broken mechanics like Flash & Medica Spam (which is one of the things I hope the maintenance will fix).

My beef with The Hunts is actually with 'The Hordes" that either kill the Mob in 15 seconds or bad mouth players that don't wait for "The Horde" to show up. I shouldn't have to join a "...world-wide Teamspeak server" to participate in this content and I certainly shouldn't have to put up with the verbal abuse because 4 -8 of us "pulled early" and enjoyed the content as it was meant to be played.

It's the easier progression path for those who have a hard time in upper coils. Though I agree that it's a little too easy and is invalidating a lot of other content; even top-tier players are skipping weekly T6-8. The bigger problem imo: coils are still capped; seals aren't.

Without Flash/Succor/Medica spammers getting credit, the marks will last an even shorter, with less people being able to get rewards. I understand that "The Horde" can't expect every mark to be waited on for them, but I've had soloers and light parties just be on a receiving side of a mobhunt-info LS and not wait for other LS parties when they find a mob themselves. That's pretty low.

Damn man, "4-8 of us" means JUST YOUR PARTY. You aren't /shouting? You aren't notifying a hunt LS or FC? You find mobs and kill it with just your party? When you're there with a party when the mob is pulled it's SO EASY to get full credit, so why not wait 3 minutes until others can arrive?

If 100 people are scouring open areas for 10 minutes for their A Ranks and "4-8" people (one party) pull the mob, they're not simply "enjoying the content as it was meant to be played". They're selfish and they deserve every verbal barb they receive.

The thing is, when you do things like that you're sowing distrust. Do you know what happens next? Others will say "Nobody waits for me, so when I find a mob I'm not shouting. I'll just tell my party." Then you miss out on far more seals than you got for the selfish ninja-kill.

Davorok is treating the content as intended (B's Light Party and A's Full Party) and most likely sees how fun A ranks can be when you're not treating them as FATE mobs (smashing face on keyboard for victory). Do you even know what Melt in East Shroud does?

Crapton of paralysis moves. He's basically one of those bajillion eye things from Lost City. You wanna talk gnarly A-ranks, Ghede Ti is your man. Spent a good chunk of his HP four-manning him once because me and another tank stepped in to help out someone who'd aggroed him by mistake. The guy hits like a mack truck made of atom bombs; if a friendly WHM hadn't shown up partway through we would've been toast.

Good. Maybe then I'll actually be interested in Hunts if it's only you and a handful of friends going after these things, LIKE SE HAD INTENDED.

the thing is... THAT'S HOW OPEN WORLD CONTENT WORKS!!! There is no rule that says you have to wait for others to arrive. If you see it, it's fair game. It's not rude. People aren't worse than Hitler for pulling a hunt NM before seven thousand other people show up. They are perfectly within their rights and perfectly justified in killing it on their own, because THAT'S HOW OPEN WORLD CONTENT WORKS. Honestly, with some of the people I've run into in this game I'm surprised that people have been as courteous as they have been. Usually it's every guild for himself and F anyone else when it comes to stuff like this in other MMOs.

Actually I am usually out doing other content (Daily Hunts/ Beast Tribe Quests / Gathering / Treasure Maps, etc. and if I happen to come across a Hunt NM I will /Yell the <t> & <pos> and a {Please Assist}. If it is a B rank as soon as 3-4 peeps show up I will pull it. If it is an A rank I will wait for 7-8 peeps to show up., but sometimes someone else will pull it as soon as they arrive. Sometimes we form a party but most of the time we don't.

Because if we wait for "The Horde" there is a good chance that we end up getting fewer rewards and it doesn't register as a Completion for the Weekly Mark.

Q: Will there be various difficulty levels?

A: Yes. Just as I explained before, the ranks will not only show the strength of the marks, but also the difficulty of their spawning conditions. There will be a variety of enemies that you can solo with item level 90 gear, enemies you can defeat that require the aid of a companion, and enemies that will require a party to defeat. If you come across one of these more difficult marks, we hope you'll make use of the party finder or shout to enlist a few able-bodied adventurers to help.
The following adjustments have been made to “The Hunt”:
Elite marks maximum HP has been increased.
Rank B maximum HP has been raised from solo to light party level, Rank A maximum HP has been raised from light party to full party level.
Although the Rank S maximum HP level was already intended for multiple parties, we have further raised the necessary number to require even more parties.

I don't expect anyone to wait for me or to even notify me that they are fighting an NM. I am not worried about "missing out on seals" because I am not spending my time constantly hunting NM's. I only need 1 Rank B Elite per week to complete my Mark Bill and any other Elites I come across are just a bonus that is much more fun to fight in a 4-8 man group than to zerg down in 10 seconds with 50-100 people.

Plus there are plenty of other things that I enjoy doing...
