Greetings. I have access to all platforms at this time so I can give you some info. The PS3 has very limited functional items such as not having the hotbar option or being able to split your chat window. The PS4 version I can tell you is exactly the same as the PC version. You can have your cross hotbar and have all eight vertical and horizontal hotbars that everybody has come to know and love to the point of being able to split the window. Now something I just had to check... but it seems the toggle is there in the character config just like the PC. So you can actually turn off the cross hotbar completely and play using only the mouse and keyboard like a PC user.

I would love for them to implement this option for the PS3 version as well. Is there some sort of hardware limitation that they can't? Otherwise it just seems really weird to completely leave that out for the PS3.

Its a pletoria iof things. With the cross bar, I only ever see 16 different skills, with only 8 being accessible at one time; makes it hard to keep track of CDs. Another problem is not being able to tab target with cross active.

The way I see your response, it toggles between 2 bars depending on if you have your weapon out or not. What I'm trying to look for is being able use my skills without having to toggle/highlight my cross bar, in a sense so I have access to 16 skills at once rather than 8 (or at least have my other set of 8 skills be toggled to an alternate keybinding, such as alt+1)

And your target issue. I am not sure I understand. Are you saying your having problems targeting enemies? Usually as soon as I hit the X button it will target the nearest NPC to me from there I can use left or right on the D-pad to get to the right creature. There is also L1+Up or Down to cycle through your enemies list.

Toggling inbetween targets during combat has always been a struggle for me. D-pad randomly cycles between allies and enemies, I have to press X after cycling to target my abilities on the selected target. It's just a very confusing jump to make from the PC.

Ok I think I know whats wrong here. Under Character Configuration >> Control Settings >> Filters >> Enable target cycling. You want under the option "While weapon is drawn" to have All Enemies, Aggroing Enemies and Duty Specific Enemies checked. This will eliminate the left - right unwanted targeting. Just remember that up - down will always be for your party list. I would also use the Filter Customization under that and set what you like. For me its Triangle = ALL, Circle = Enemies, Square = Friends, X = Party Members. You can switch these on the fly if needed but I don't normally.

This is what I do. I have a filter for enemies only, one for party members only, one for "all" (since it won't let me target pets otherwise) and another one for friends that I use when I am in alliance (it basically targets everything but enemies).
I think it's just an issue of getting used to it. I have only played PS3: it was confusing at first, but once you use it for a while, switching between hotbars and stuff becomes natural.

Appreciate all the inputs. I found the cross merge option (accessing one half of a cross bar by holding down both shoulder buttons) to be very helpful in the transition. Just issues with map awareness cause of the camera controls and using ground targetted AoEs.
