I really miss exp parties. Sometimes you can throw together a super awesome group of players who each know their job very well, and get amazing exp. Sometimes you get that paladin that, no matter how many times you tell him, he just wont voke until the mob hits someone else first.

EXP parties had a certain amount of skill required to them. You could create a name for yourself in them. Instances. We did that in Aion, and in WOW. I hate going to some stupid instance, and spamming buttons while mobs are all over the place. It wasn't skilled based. It was about as hard as behest. I want some challenge where it takes 6 "or 8" well coordinated members to kill a single mob.

If they can do that with instance, than i'm all for it.. but if it's like WOW where a bunch of 10 year olds can do it even with no assigned tank.. no thanks -.-

That's the difference between this game and wow though already. With the exception of guildleves/and behests for example even the low NM's take some time to be killed by a 50 whereas in most MMO's these days you could one shot them (plus their gear would be completely useless in most cases). From watching the video of the dungeon it looks like S-E knows this, simply putting more HP on a mob does wonders in my opinion.

Some people might disagree, but I'm sorry when you can kill mobs in a few whacks there is no time for tactics to play a part.

statements like this tick me off.

what does age have to do with skill in a video game?
age shouldn't have anything to do with how good you play a game.
Honestly WoW instances are not that easy but it more depends on what one and its setting and how much you know of it.

funny story. I was trying to play ffxiv one day and my 1 year old nephew and crying. So i sat him in my lap and put the controler down infront of him. Just to see what he would do.
What he did was pick up the controler and held it correctly. And walk/ran my character around and kept putting her in attack mode. He almost started to attack the mob also.

I didn't teach him anything he did this on his own. I'm watching him do this and like WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the problem is that "fun" is subjective. I, personally, have fun grinding in exp parties for hours at a time while a few of my friends have "fun" by getting on, doing leves for an hour then signing off for 35 hours. I find this to be extremely...boring...

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

Well, I honestly played wow. It's easy mode.. And you know those people who always think they are right. Like those people who have a unearned sence of accomplishment. You know what I mean? Those people who assume what they think is the say all end all. The ones who always one up you when you say something and they don't even realize it?

Every time I meet one of those people, I ask them if they play WOW, and 99% of the time they say yes. These people are the people who I think about when I reference WOW. I'd say this is who most think of. Granted, I know a professor who plays WOW, and I think he's amazing. He's such a geek loser, but he's one of those fat guys who laugh at their own jokes, but are really modest. He makes my friends and I laugh not because what he says is funny, but that he's so open, and his laugh sounsd like a little piggy laugh. He's himself, and I think that's awesome. Anyway, he's great, and he has this saying "It's the exception that proves the rule". It makes no sense to me, but he is that exception!

Anyway, my point is, I want a party where you are like WOW (Pun not intended), I can't believe we did that. We were an inch from death, and we pulled through. Great job party. Amazing healing and mp management conj, epic hate management tank, wow, way to stay under the hate threshold while doing some epic dmg there rng. Way to off tank there pug.

Stuff like that. I don't want a bunch of noobs seeing who can do the most dmg. Attacking first without any thought because they know they can blow through it as if it's a behest or WOW (lol that's me trolling).

If you look here, you will see the EVE ONLINE learning curve. See how it is different from WOW. I'd rather FFXIV be more like EVE online.

    See my point mate?
