^ This. All moves that use opo-opo form can be considered "starter moves" as they do not NEED to be in any form to use them and begin the 3-hit combo by putting you into Raptor form.
However you only receive the bonus (100% crit on bootshine, blunt resistance down on dragon kick, silence for arm of the destroyer) if you are in Opo-opo form. On the very first round of combat you don't get these bonuses. On the second round you do, but the icons do not indicate that.
The MNK forms do not last very long, so when you move from one enemy or pack to the next it's very easy to lose it. In the heat of battle the indicator on these actions would be a shiny reminder that the form is still in effect.
