    ah i thought maybe desynth was something new..i have been converting stuff for a while now if that is what you mean and getting useful materia to add to my gear. I thought desynth was something new.

    Desynth IS something new. Don't confuse Materia (gotten by converting spiritbonded gear) with Demimateria (obtained through desynthesis). Demimateria is a special kind of crafting ingredient used to make most of the new recipes introduced in patch 2.3.
