I Do Love My Cut Scenes... Bring Back the Local Bard!

Many months ago when I had leveled my brains out and done so many Dunes Folk for Dinner leves that I was contemplating eating the dunes folk myself, I decided I should go ahead and finish off the storyline. I went to Mor'Dhona and embarked on a quest to see a cut scene which would be the scene that would keep me playing and waiting for new content.

Not to spoil it for those who have not arrived at that mission yet, but the scene was epic. The graphics and detail which I had taken for granted after countless hours of game play had come to life once more. A vision of what was to come inhabited me. After seeing the CS once, I was on a mission to find someone else who hadn't done it so I could watch it once more in game.

To my surprise and sadness I could not re-watch that scene while doing the mission with a friend. Deep in depression I went back to Uldah. Then it hit me... the bards! I can find a bard who will tell the grand story of what I had witnessed and show me the CS I so desperately needed to see again. But again, I was saddened to find that those bards do not exist (yet) in FFXIV.

Eventually I just went on Youtube and found someone who had recorded it... not quite the same without my cold eyed Gladiator witnessing the madness but it cured my withdrawal.

So tell me if you feel the same way I do. Bring back the bards? Give us a new option? Allow us to view the CS when questing with a buddy? Or tell me about how you felt when you saw the first Ifrit CS (that spun me sideways too). Also if anyone knows what Dev tag to use, by all means, chuck it in a reply.

I agree with this. We got these voice acted cutscenes and we're only able to watch 'em once. It's a dog-gone shame, it is.

Yes please!!!! I want to relive these awesome moments, and the cinematics are too pretty to only be seen once. I guess I agree with Eekiki

I'd say add the ability to watch the cutscenes to the opening menu, where you can see the opening scene.

There was a thread about this somewhere a long time ago; I'll contribute the same advice here:

    Implementation Idea
As I think it's an invaluable tool for those who want to really experience the world and understand the lore and story to the fullest - a "Goblin Footprint" mechanism is an absolute must - especially for wiki users who would love the chance to catalogue the one-time dialogue from not only the scenes themselves, but the NPCs within one-visit instances as well.

I have an idea for it's implementation into the game - use a piece of the lore we already have: The Echo.

If I had any sway over the team, I'd place NPCs in major areas that were renowned masters of the ability to use the Echo - and that they could assist us in revisiting our past experiences. Once engaged with an Echo NPC, an interface menu much like the Journal would pop up, allowing us to choose which Class we would like to revisit events from (Main storyline included) - From this menu, we would be able to select anything we've done so far - including being instantly teleported into Instances regardless of their location. These anchors are extremely important, in my opinion, as they would allow players to relive an entire storyline without leaving the cities - which I consider to be paramount in getting the most out of the lore when new story quests are added.

Perhaps a player has been absent for some time, or it has been a very long time since they completed the last quests and want to catch up before the next quest starts. Sure, the journal histories are good for that, as well, but what if we want more than a bare bones skim?
