Can you elaborate? What class is your retainer?

Honestly can't remember which class it was. I know it was either my third or fourth retainer, so either Botany or Fisher. That's all I can say for sure, sorry. And still haven't gotten a single thing worthwhile since that Floss Silk either. these XIV's are a ridiculous waste of time. I was getting semi-useful things far more often with Rank XIII's. Once I get those minions, I'm done with the XIV's.

Class is absolutelly irelevant here as they all bring the same stuff from the same class of quests.

None of my retainers has ever been lvl 80 yet but I got lots of furniture including stuff I sell for 150k on market, light steel plates, saurian skin (or leather - got just once and sold instantly), Leviathan parts, HQ lvl 70 crafted gear, moogle weapons, minute mindflyer minions (3 in a row) and other random stuff. Most of good items are from quick ventures, the 18 hour long ones usually have couerl meat or boar/toad/hippogriph skin and low level materia. Though I think I once got grade 4 determination materia too.

Not entirely sure but I think at time the ventures were implemented SE said that quick ventures gives better chance to get rare items. Seem to me that players can choose between high cahnce to get good items (quick ventures) or very low chance to get very good items (18 hour ventures).

But as the poster said, it probably came from his fisher or botanist. Te floss silk could be a unique item that only one of those classes can bring.

My Botanist retainer brought back some floss silk yesterday. :-)

Hmm, is the new Minecart minion exclusive to MIN retainers, and Floss Silk exclusive to BTN retainers? If so, what's exclusive to FSH or DoW/DoM retainers, if anything?

Please let us know if you get one of those items from a different retainer class...

Since 2.3 I've first only been sending out my DoM retainers since I used my botanist gear myself and without it my retainer did not have 383 gathering, never got any floss silk on either of the 2, now I'm sending out my botanist Retainer as well and she brought me a floss silk after a few days.
I also think that only my botanist ever brought me Taffeta and my DoM retainers brought me Light Steel Plate... but I've seen other report differently, so while I kind of believe that it does matter what class the retainer is, the reports leave me uncertain.

On XIV exploration:

My archer retainer only brought more hippogryph skins & Coeurl meat/skins.
My miner (yes, I already gave him extra forager hat/tool and has 383+ gath) brings gold ores & volcanic salt rocks.

All are always HQ mats though, and mossy stuff too which has getting cheaper in marketplace. So far, haven't see anything else.

I've gotten Young Water Lily twice now, and both times it's been from my Fisher.

Edit: Also just got Floss Silk from Botanist.
