While I'm not a NM Hunter cause I find it boring. SE should just give everyone a Field of Vision Radar built into the mini map or something. That way everyone is happy! of course, that'd be too convenient and MMO's aren't ment to be convenient lol.
Justification doesn't make it right. Desperation doesn't make it lawful. It is sad but crossing that line still means you are in the wrong. The "witch hunts" start when the people in charge turn a blind eye to the problem. What them to stop, then SE has to fix the issues.I'm sorry, but that's a horrible intent. You're renaming your chocobo in order to ban someone's account, something they paid for and im most cases never did wrong by anyone. Why do you think cheaters cheat anyway? Some might do it because they can, but I believe most do it as an act of desperation more than anything. It's more sad to me than it is annoying. A lot of people have been making the app users out to be venomous monsters, but I think its time to look in the mirrors, friends.
Or maybe people are imagining the issues, hence SE hasn't stopped them.
I don't think there are quite as many cheaters as people think, that or the advantage isn't as great as people think. I was in a hunt party (from PF) yesterday and the majority of the hunts we found trickled in from someone who was also in a hunt LS with 40 or so people actively hunting at the time. I know that one person in our group was cheating, but he found almost no marks. It became obvious that he was cheating because he spotted a few chocobos (I'm assuming), called the location out, and then followed up with 'false alarm'. I thought it was odd the first time that you could have a false alarm when spotting an NM, but whatever. The second time he did it someone questioned him how that's possible and after a pause he claimed that it died right after he saw it...I guess that could have happened, but it wouldn't make sense to call out marks that are nearly dead anyway.
So how many ppl gonna get banned? In the end of the day, they can only ban that many ppl, before the higher up start asking questions.

closed for business till further notice
LOL so now I'm supposed to be sympathetic to cheaters?I'm sorry, but that's a horrible intent. First of all, I'm not the one that's doing the chocobo renaming thing, that's the other poster. Second, when you cheat you're making the conscious decision to do so; any result of that is your own fault, no one else's.

"Well, it's no Vana'diel, but it'll have to do..."
Breaking the rules for your own benefit isn't exactly what I would look at as a Robin Hood complex. I look in the mirror, in regards to FFXIV, and see a person who does not cheat and plays the game with the intent to not gain an unfair advantage over my peers. Why you would see someone playing a VIDEO GAME as though they were some desperate puppy looking for food to live is beyond me.What would the macro look like exactly? Gets tiring posting the coords to something across like 3 chats.

If you're playing a video game and can actually be considered to be acting out of "desperation", it's not a matter of pity, it's just a pathetic and sad individual who will rightfully get no sympathy from anyone. Desperation is a term used for RL, not a virtual world.
Not that cheating in a video game is the same as stealing, murder, or rape, but seriously read what you wrote using a different perspective! Why do you think [theives/murderers/rapists] [steal/kill/rape] anyway? Some might do it because they can, but I believe most do it as an act of desperation more than anything. It's more sad to me than it is annoying. A lot of people have been making the [theives/murderers/rapists] out to be venomous monsters, but I think its time to look in the mirrors, friends.
We were all created equal, with the equal opportunity to become unequal.
