We could still give you i115 with full i110 and people would still die at T5 and Titan Ex. Not everyone's an endgame raider is true, not everyone needs the best gear is also true.

But, you know what you get to show for your effort? High Allagan gear. In a lot of cases, it's BiS over Soldiery gear, and, beyond that, there's also the prestige title from SSCoB, if what you're focused on is gratification and something to show for your work.

Now, I do believe that SSCoB should've given gear, but that's another discussion entirely. Frankly, though, the reason I'm so derisive over this is that it doesn't matter. I've been the heroic raider. I've been the top tier, mostly thunderforged, BiS top of the charts person that likes to think people will ogle over them in main cities.

But it's irrelevant. New content will come out in a few months. Your "prestige" means nothing to the majority of the playerbase. It gives you literal nothing but your own personal overinflated sense of self worth that, frankly, shouldn't be coming from a video game.

Do what you do, be proud of your own accomplishments for their own sake, and forget what everyone around you looks like. You'll be much happier, especially in a game like this.
It's not just about the prestige. It's about the game's balance as well. I've heard more than once that the casuals doesn't want to wait 6 months or more for gear upgrade. We've got 3-4 months before 2.4 comes out and if the pattern follows the previous patches, the new Tomestones gear wil lbe i110 and the upgrade i120. But if people don't want to wait 6+ months, are they going to start asking for the i120 already because they are too impatient ? Since we are giving nearly free i110 right now, no one will want the new Tomestones gear and everyone willask for i120 since they want a sense of progression. With this logic, why even have Tomestones gear ?

Then let's say the that the iLvL of the gear then will be i120 for soldiery and i130 for upgraded/raid gear. It then create a glut in the item level where mobs now need to be balanced to the increase in high level. Seeing as how people are strugglign with current content, do you think that's a good idea ?

Don't you see how that's unhealthy for the game ?

I agree with what you are saying, there should have been either a weekly limit on obtaining sands/oils. One a week then by the time ST gets sands they will still be desirable, plus keeping itbalanced between all sources. 1 from hunts, 1 from CT and 2 from SCoB.

But, with 2.4 I also remember Yoshi saying they will add a level increase with the introduction of new classes/jobs. So 2.4 could well possibly be a reset on gear for the new level cap (assuming that is still in the picture).

You mean like they already did? Unless you forgot, the max ilvl of gear for patch 2.0-2.1 was 90 (sans weapons). In 2.2, the new tomestone gear was released and was 10 levels about that, with an upgrade 10 levels above also. So this hypothetical situation you're afraid of has already occurred and has not destroyed the game, so what is your argument exactly?
