Are we getting houses?

Here are a few things I posted in regard to housing through the Company system HERE

Company Housing

For Private Companies I would also like Company Housing. This would be our HQ I guess, a communal house where we would have access to various features. As our Company credits grow in our Private Company account we could use the funds to buy upgrades to our housing. So maybe we start off in a run down building and as we grow we can buy either upgrades to the existing building or a whole new bigger and better building. Then we could add extensions to it like the Chocobo Stable's, Airship landing pad and so on. A few things I would like in this house would be the following:

• A main communal room which we can decorate and also mount trophies from our NM's kills and completed missions/accomplishments.
  
• A Communal Storage area where I can drop off mats and items which I may not find useful but a crafter in our Company might.
  
• A Chocobo stables for raising our Chocobo's and looking after them.
  
• An Airship landing pad for our Airship. Our Airship would be fully upgradable so we can kit it out with new features and perks as we grow as a Company.
  
• A dock for our boat. Same as the Airship we can fully upgrade it.
  
• Private quarters that we can decorate and also storage for our gear that we wouldn't put in the communal storage.
  
• A crafter area that you could kit out with support benches.
  
• A garden would also be nice too that we could grow things in. It would be great if you could grow things for Botanists to harvest, and maybe even some types of rock plants for Miners to harvest too. Also a pond for the Fishermen/women within the Company.

Well since you're asking.......

1. Choice of location. Give us a choice of different interesting and beautiful locations within each city/zone. By the beach, on the cliffs or even on an island in La Noscea! Canyon cliffside or by an oasis in Thanalan! Atop the trees or by a lake in the Black Shroud! The ideas are endless guys.

2. Interior and Exterior decoration. Obviously with a house comes customization. Please allow use to decorate the inside with various furniture, wallpapers and carpets as well as the outside with statues, fountains and exterior house customization.

3. Housing Expansion. Allow us to not only customize but expand our dwelling. Give us long quests and crazy requirements to get bigger and better houses over time. This makes not only getting the house an accomplishment but expanding it as well.

4. Allow other players to visit. What's the point of having a cool place of your own if no one else can see it? Allow us to bring anyone in our party with us to our houses. That would be the most simple way to do it while keeping restrictions in my opinion.

This is what I would like to see done with player housing.

If they do player housing they should do it Phantasy Star universe the only thing they did right in that game to me. The housing options was overwhelming.

Well it was decent but not the best. Housing expansion would have been nice as the room you're given is a nice size but I'd love to have had more space.

Here is my problem: this really doesn't add much unless it is non-instanced.

Except it does because those within the linkshell can see it, use it and feel a sense of accomplishment especially if they helped the linkshell get it. Being able to invite non-linkshell players would allow others to see it. Having things non-instanced again sounds good on paper but there's the issue of space, inactive players and returning players to say the least. Maybe having a large instanced area with multiple personal/linkshell homes would strike a nice medium.

Call me odd but I don't want company housing unless it provides a space for my own character's house as well.

I'm all for boats and airships that could be used as LS transport, but i just don't see the point in having a house. I don't know how many of you own your own home but decorating and moving furniture around really does suck. Myabe if they implement an NPC called Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and he does it all for you, then yeh maybe. :S

We asked Yoshida whether housing would be implemented and this is what he said:



What ideas would you like to see implemented with housing? I personally would like a handsome Elezen butler…

I would like the ability to be able to call a retainer in the house to collect my wages from the market ward or to exchange items.
The ability to collect item sent via other players (If it ever gets implemented)

Adding furnishing and spoils from the battle field to furnish the house.
Been able to lay down on the bed and sit down on the chairs in the house would be nice too.
Also inviting friends over.

And what about gardening?
