It will be fine in 2.4 where hunts are the be all/end all to everything.-There is 0 difficulty involved in killing a hunt target.
-The world is tiny. Even the biggest baddest notorious monsters are at max a 2 minute run from anyone anywhere at anytime in the game, unless you're in a duty thanks to tiny zones and teleporting.
-The zones are full of fluff. None of the surrounding monsters pose any threat.
-Notorious monsters are discovered MOMENTS after spawning. This takes away from the whole magic of stumbling upon a notorious monster.
It's nice they listened to the community when we asked for notorious monsters, but it just doesn't really seem to fit.
You're a player, so get to it and start fixing these player problems. Or invent a mind-control device that stops hundreds of thousands of people from following the path of least resistance.
Or SE could invent systems that guide players along intended paths. Seems easier but idk other people are insisting that making hundreds of thousands follow rules with no enforcement is somehow the way things should be.
I firmly believe the idea that they can give players freedom and expect us to behave is a pipe dream. It worked in the past, for the most part, because the populous wasn't as large in the MMORPG community. Not anymore. They need to baby us and treat us like children if they expect us to play in a specific manner. That's not a joke btw, I truly believe that, and am reminded everyday by our peers of how much of a reality that is. Too much freedom gives the folks seeking to disrupt others for their own benefit reign over the masses. It's a sad reality. You're a player, so get to it and start fixing these player problems. That being said, I was simply referring to the situation itself, rather than proposing some fairy tale fix to the matter that doesn't involve removing things we may abuse. Give the general base an inch, they'll take a mile. It's unfortunate that decent folk get caught in the mess, but that's how it is. We either put up with the bad or we remove the ability for the bad to happen (which also limits the freedoms of those who act decently).
Just like what people used to do in Everquest to raid bosses. EQ players knew of the zerg before it became a term lol.The lack of difficulty from the hunt target and the time it takes for players to find and kill them is not a fault of the feature. It's a fault of the player base. Many of the A rank targets are actually a bit of a challenge for the intended group sizes. They don't scale as well after the recent patch, due to what is apparently only an HP buff to dictate group size needed, rather than a full stat boost, but they can still pose a threat depending. We, the players, are making the NMs a joke because we're sending 40+ people after something intended for 3-4.
Not sure who exactly is 'cheating'. (Well, apart from THAT APP WHICH CANNOT BE NAMED APPARENLY users)First, the system is fatally flawed. That fatal flaw would not, on it's own, destroy hunts. However, players (NA I'm looking at you) are exploiting that flaw to game the seals farming and lock out any player unwilling to cheat. The "blame" is shared on both sides. It also needs to be fixed, because as the OP has correctly stated, there is zero difficulty...
But on Excalibur it's a fun community (for the most part) with up to 100 people at a time, searching the world, keeping record of times/spawns/conditions.
It may not be how the developers intended it, but it's good fun for the most part. (It'd be considerably better if it was a challenge though)
Yeah, forgot about that, edited~

The people using third party tools to help them locate the enemies that the forum mods are suspending people now for mentioning. I guess since they can't stop the cheaters, they just punish the people that mention the cheaters instead.
It's the player base fault. Majority I think. If you have the whole server with full linkshells looking for targets, there's no challenge.
Late the first night we did deathclaw, the giant imperial hand. He one shot four of our party members. There were only 8 of us there and it was actually fun. Stupid community ruining everything. A part of me wishes the hunts didn't give sand of time because the content itself is fun to look for and do when the whole server isn't. Then again, it allows people who don't raid to upgrade their gear.
Yeah. The atherite system makes it virtually impossible to have NMs work like they used to. Accessibility has kind of ruined the appeal.
