Less people raiding also increases the demand for raiders, incentivizing people to be creative, tolerant, and patient. If there aren't ALWAYS people to replace someone who might not be as experienced as you would like, or who might not be performing quite to your standards, ya might find it's easier to invest some time in your fellow raider, rather than bail or kick. A higher demand for raiders means a higher percentage of raiders will become experienced.

Storyline, weapons, the simple fact that solidery gear isn't BiS.

Honestly the best gear is a combination of solidery and coil gear. Either one on it's own isn't the best.

I'm not sure if it would actually work out this way, but I would like it very much if it did.

"Only accepting applicants that cleared T5 pre 2.2" rules out a lot of skilled players... simply for joining the game late or not focusing on raiding soon enough, etc.

In my mind high allagan gear still equates to more respect given the difficulty in learning / clearing the content with people. Other routes to 110 just gives casual players, such as myself, a chance to ease into harder contents such as SCoB.

If it comes down to it, I'm sure people would still rather have someone with some high allagan gear than someone loaded with non-raid equipment. I don't really see any issues here tbh.

They shouldn't have been making content that hard to begin with, since most Final Fantasy fans fall into the category of mainstream and casual gamers as opposed to hardcore gamers. Plus, you don't need statistics to know that the hardcore gaming crowd for MMORPGs has been in decline for some time now. There used to be half a dozen excellent tutorials per boss for the more popular MMOs, but nowadays you'd be lucky to find just one good quality video that explains things right.

I don't understand teh OP or the million threads like this.

OP has a static coil group of 8 people or more clearing T6+

    Other people get 110 gear

I am going to raid because I haven't been able to clear Turn 5 yet, and maybe now the proliferation of slightly better gear will make it possible to clear with a PUG. I'm part of a small FC and we try our best. I don't want to be handed an easier fight, but I do want to continue doing new (for me) content. I want to become more experienced, but I can't do that if I'm gated behind old raids.

I don't see any difference apart from your mute char not being in the cutscene.

Basically it's "I don't want others to have what I do".

A different question might be: What's the point of i110 if you're not using it to do coil?
If the object of the game is to get i110 gear, then I suppose no one would raid any more. (Except that it's a faster way to get gear in some respects).
But isn't the object of the game, for many people, to beat the hard thing they haven't been able to beat yet?

Some of our groups need a bit more help from gear than the others.
