As programmer: if this happens once in a RNG you should check the code and if this happens again it is time to fix the code (look at loot - it is happening very often!)

Blame the poor programmed RNG, not the system!
Sure, on loot we have many to pick from, so it may happens not that often, but still there we see it VERY OFTEN...
Yeah, there is quite literally certainly something wrong with the RNG in FF14. You can look at this by measuring crits on a training dummy for a while - the distribution is the most out of whack thing I've ever seen. RNG generally shouldn't have this many streaks, at least not this consistently.

It smacks of poor seeding practices.

In truly random distributions, very "long" streaks are extremely common. That's not to say there isn't hypothetically an issue with their psuedo-random algorithm, (i.e. heavily favoring some results over others) but streaking is NOT the issue. Many pseudo-random RNG systems have mechanics in place to buffer out streaking just because it makes humans upset, (e.g. having 70% crit chance and not critting for 8 attacks in a row) but if for example your crit chance is 50% and you crit exactly 50 of every 100 attacks, and your longest streaks of crit or non crit is 4, that indicates a very NON random algorithm weighting results by past results.
