So now (2.3) that the new accessories and the increase on the Militia Bracelets gives +16 GP, does that reinstate Forager's Hat as the best recommended piece of gear in the Head slot, as its -1 GP has become insignificant?
As I've posted before, the -1 GP on forager's hat never become real issue on my end. Even having 600 GP alone already gave huge benefit on gathering star materials, that's for using the 300 GP on boosting quality skill and 300 GP for +1 gathering attempt. The extra 50+ GP are just for pushing gathering chances if it's still below 100%. My melding setup already gave me huge benefit, although this might differ between other players.
Thank you for the thread. The Miner offhand is ridiculous for melds lol. So I was using http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ and I see +11 G, +24 P, +4 GP >.> What is the best meld order for this/scythe if you have max melded everything else and it is all HQ with Dodore jewelry but HQ Electrum earrings. 1 100% slot.. geez lol. Start with the most expensive +6 percep/gath materia huh then stack on ? Risking that many forbidden melds with +5/+6 materia is damn costly.
I'd guess most of it is not necessary so just maybe 3 slots of materia for gathering and perception?

You know what's so overpowered in this game, that they just HAD to leave out?
-Buffing during cutscenes.
-Pets receiving the Protect buff.
-A blacklist with more than a 200 player capacity.
-Filtering the flying text for your own numbers.
-A better way to organize and sort through your macros.
I did say it was the setup as of pre 2.3, tho I will edit my 1st post and bold the sentence to avoid misleading. Besides, I don't see the need of remaking my militia bracelet yet for mere 3 GP loss. Like I said, I'm still doing fine with 600 GP alone. Plus, I still need to finance something else rather than this. lol
In case I would remake the bracelet again, I might use this setup instead: GP-IV GP-IV Gath-II Percept-II GP-II.
And as you've noticed, I haven't posted my version of post 2.3 acc melding since I haven't got/make any of them yet, though I planned to update once I got my hands on them.
In the mean time, feel free for anyone to post their setup in this thread. ^^
As for @Ivicious post, I usually follow these general rule for meldings:
- Always start from higher tier. The further you overmeld, higher tier will tax greatly on your success rate while lower tier will ease them.
- Always check market board 1st. Generally you want to invest your first melds on something that's more expensive than the latter.
- For extra notes: if you plan to farm through spiritbonding, also take notes of which materia stat commonly produced against the rarer ones. Based on those, you would also wanted to meld hard-to-get first. Usually market prices will reflect these outcomes.

Well, there are people like me who hit their first 50 gatherer post patch 2.3. So I've fortunately didn't have to remake militia bracelets. The reason I suggested you might want to re-edit -- people may be looking for the most updated and concise information and your thread does a pretty good job at that.

did you even look at them? they are DOW/DOM http://i.imgur.com/KLw0N5s.jpg
they are not DOL/DOH
they are not equip-able by "all classes"
i70 accessories are "all classes" which is why DOL can use them
