New i90 accessories are hard to craft! Advice?

So, I tried crafting the new i90 rings last night from scratch. It was... hard. I haven't done much 3* crafting, and never with so few HQ mats, and it was a huge mess.

First of all, the Gold Ingots (3*) were a cinch to get to 100% each time. I started with all HQ mats and succeeded in HQing 6 of 6. My starting quality was about 1,500, which is plenty to HQ easily.

The Iolite.... wasn't as easy. With all HQ mats, you start at about 1,000 or so. And, I was working with mostly NQ mats, since I hadn't realized how hard they'd be to HQ. So, with HQ ingredients, I went 1 HQ of 2 tries. With the other 10 attempts starting from 0 quality, 5 were HQ, 4 were NQ, and 1 was a fail at 100% (miscounted CP by four and couldn't Ingenuity).

So, finally acquiring 6 HQ Iolite and 6 HQ Gold Ingots, I set out to HQ the accessories, figuring these two three star synths have to give me enough starting quality to HQ the results. Starting quality: 1,200 or so. I proceeded to do the same rotation I used for the Gold Ingots, and hit 100% on the first two. On the second two, I hit 90% and 85% due to a total lack of Good results, and both failed to HQ because RNG hates me.

    The "rotation" I used was:

    0. Eat HQ Bouillabaisse if buff not already up
    1. Comfort Zone*
    2. Inner Quiet*
    3. Steady Hand II (I is probably enough...)*
    4. Waste Not
5-8. Piece by Piece x2, Tricks of the Trade x1 if possible, Hasty Touch x1-2
    9. Steady Hand II
10-14. Tricks of the Trade whenever possible, Comfort Zone x1 after Comfort Zone wears off, Hasty Touch otherwise.
    15. Manipulation*
    16. Steady Hand II*

Repeat 10-16 as needed until 35 Durability and 110+ CP.

Climax 1. If Steady Hand II is not up with a counter of 3-4, use Steady Hand
Climax 2. If Excellent, Byregot's Blessing and skip to End. Otherwise, Great Strides
Climax 3. If Good or Excellent, Byregot's Blessing and skip to End. Otherwise, Ingenuity II
Climax 4. If Good or Excellent or CP is < 42, Byregot's Blessing and skip to End. If CP >= 42, Innovation
Climax 5. Byregot's Blessing and skip to End

End 1. If Ingenuity II does not have 3 steps left in its duration, use Ingenuity II. If you don't have the CP to do so, you messed up somewhere and are now very sad because your synth will fail. If Ingenuity II is up with 3+ steps left, Careful Synthesis II.
End 2-4. Careful Synthesis II until three of them have been used.

    * = use Tricks of the Trade after if condition is Good

Is there something I could do better? This gets me from 85-100% for the three star accessories crafts, but it doesn't get me 100% by any means.

For reference, I have the Artisan tool, max melded 2.2 GSM gear except offhand (which has +5 crafts, +3 control, and +3 CP), and a max melded Dodore belt.

step 3 should be waste not first, then sh2. reason being you waste a sh2 step by doing this. the first waste not step is wasted, yes, but it puts it at 75, and a 5 counts as a safe step to do whatever on. kinda confusing but trust me. tricks of the trade shouldnt be used when sh2 is up either. i only do that when the first sh2 falls off, and i need the TOT bc i havent gotten one yet. so when i reapply comfort zone, then sh2, i use the first TOT i get. dont want to do it later, bc the hits are bigger on goods later on due to the built up IQ. also, the manipulation isnt as good as mm2 here. u use a lot of cp for it, but if you have 387 cp, and u get one TOT, then youre able to put a sh2 up towards the end, then you got enough for GS, BB, and ING2. idk just the way i do it. you can keep doing that tho, but pay attention to the first points i made, i think that will help. i have a bit of trouble with these but havent nqed yet. you dont begin with much quality since the mats involve materia

Thanks so much for the advice! I know that the demimateria is why I don't get a good starting point, but that doesn't make the starting point any less painful to me. I always did WN second because that way, if I got a good during WN, I could use ToT safely. If I didn't, I would use SH2/WN again since I hadn't spent the "free" non-dura hit during it. I think you're right though that the math doesn't work out in my favor, and your idea is mathematically superior.

I actually started using MM2 last night when doing some Cashmere armor crafts. I was doing this mostly to practice rotations, since I was starting with 2,600 quality so I really couldn't fail unless I screwed something up. It was still a bit risky the way I was doing it since, if I didn't get the right number of ToTs (2, I think), I wouldn't be able to use BB at the end. But, I'm getting better at appropriately managing my CP.

So, yeah, thanks for the advice!
