I believe this is how SE intended for all crafters to have access to a de-synth-able crafting items.
Since it's hq, likely has better odds (my sample set was two small)

You can also desynth housing items. One funny trick though, if you are having trouble with say hq rose gold ingots, just use the normal ones you get and make the rose gold clasps, desynth it, chance you can get either that new fangled demimateria, but there is also a possibility of getting an hq rose gold ingot back.

You mean the Rose Gold Gears and such? You can desynth those? Totally missed that...

Not gears, two star parts like "Astrolabe clinometer"
Each class has a boxed part - crafted crafting material.

Currently, those have a much higher price than the Artisan Spectacles, which are very cheap to craft the mats for... Aqueous Whetstones alone have been going for 10k each on my server x_x. Generally, things that take only myth mats and no philo mats should be cheaper, if they aren't already.

Correct. In short term, artisan glasses may be cheaper to make, but knowing other classes can level desynthing to 100 at "reasonable" costs is important.
Diversity is important when it comes to desynthing since we cannot level them all.

Additionally I believe the HQ crafting materials will have higher demimateria success rates than NQ artisan spectacles which from my data are 1/4 chance.
Ideally you want to craft something with the lowest number of materials/possiblities for de-synth results, bringing the odds to 1/3.

Yes. Also to a lesser extent, weapon parts from WP (those seem to count like i55s). Look thru the list on mb under "weapon parts" and it'll say desynthable (craft).

Note that 1* crafts without a shown ilvl are ilvl 55, 2* crafts are ilvl 70, and 3* crafts are ilvl 90. So, Vanya Silk Robe Lining (or whatever it's called) is a 2* craft, and thus ilvl 70. You can also get these "hidden" ilvls from XIVDB. Generally, parts for 2* recipes/items are ilvl 70, and parts for 3* items are ilvl 90. So, the WP drops are for ilvl 55 items, and thus they are ilvl 55.


Does anyone have any data on whether HQ items have a better demimateria yield than NQ items? I know they have the same success rate, and melding materia to items increases success rate (by 5% each), but there is no obvious effect of HQing an item.
