The "Yoshi needs more sleep" petition! Save him before it's too late!

It is ( or should be ) well known that the brain uses sleep to sort organize and digest information. In addition it is known that we require sleep for the physical conponents of our bodies.. Muscles etc. There are studies in controled environments that show: the more rested a person is, the better that person operates.

It always amazes me how most people seem to "give props" to those people that brag of staying awake for a long time. When we should be offering our words of complement to those that rest when it is needed.

OP: I agree. Yoshida should sleep more. But NOT as a thank you for 22hr shifts. As an intelligent human being he should sleep because he knows its a better way to function in his job.

I think Mr Yoshi is... stretching the truth with his 2-3 hours a night of sleep story. If he truly was doing that, there is no way he would get anything done. I think he's just trying to drive home the point that they are giving 100%

To be honest, I'm pretty sure Yoshi doesn't even speak English. Perhaps he told the translator to just make it look good!

Don't forget that oversleeping is just as bad as "undersleeping". We actually don't know how productive he is because we don't actually know him. So telling Yoshi-P to get more sleep may not do him any good, because his body may be perfectly capable of functioning with less sleep than the average human.

Studies show that sleep is important and people who sleep around 9 hours a day perform better than others. But, in saying that, there is a lady at my work who barely sleeps and she is so exuberant and productive it defies belief. I swear she must be on something. My mother is the same.

Also, when I was in med school I didn't sleep very much, and probably achieved more then than i do now. But it's true that one functions more when one has rested.

I guess everyone functions differently. Sometimes the more you sleep the more lazy you get.

When he says 6 months, he probably means new 'type' of gear, say a Jubbah would take 6 months to create from scratch bc it doesnt have its own presets/template yet. Unlike, for example the NM gear Dodore's Doublet, it doesnt take 6 months to create because it is basically a doublet with change in colour and acc/pattern addition, however it still counts as new released gear just reskinned.

The doublet is a great example of everything thats involved in the gear. The doublet piece can have accessories added to it like arm buckles, shoulder strap, and have a variety of textures. This is only possible because they spent the initial time designing it very well. Its not just a static piece of armor, its a dynamic piece that can have many variables modified to create different iterations. I believe in the 6-month time frame for completely new SET of gear.

Like I said in the other thread: Ahem I don't believe for a second that gear takes that long nor the fact that he thinks he's being more productive because he prides with the lack of sleep. It's the most unproductive way to work and there are dozens of studies proving that. Japanese need just as much sleep as everyone else and pretending you're a superhero doesn't change that.

Honestly the way the fan crowds have fallen for this jesus-act is a bit lame. I personally want this game to be fixed sooner and to do that the devs need to start acting more responsibly starting with Yoshida.

You really need to let go of the cynicism, like really. It's very common knowledge that in terms of MMOs it does in fact take months to pump out high quality models let alone things regarding stats or ability enhancements -- Even offline games some companies spend a year or more perfecting a high polygon model on next gen systems. Why do you think the player model tend to be the most detailed and NPCs tend to be fairly generic?

More common knowledge - In game development especially you can go sometimes a week without sleep if you need to make a very important deadline, why? Simple, it's a tough industry just like the senate in america sometimes "spend the night" during important bills and so on.
