"Reject Vote Dismissal and report abuse" - button, please.

Hi there.

Unfortunately, it seems it has become increasingly common for people in Duty Finder to pick a scapegoat after a failed attempt, either at random or based on their best guess on who messed up, and start a Vote Dismissal with an arbitrary reason (most commonly "AFK" or "Offline") on them - which, for reasons I cannot fathom, almost always seems to pass successfully. Said scapegoat is then kicked from the duty and the supporters of this Vote Dismissal leave the duty with impunity, ready to sign up for the next single attempt before kicking a random person to get away without a penalty.

Now, I'm pretty sure this is the very definition of "Abuse of the Vote Dismissal system", however, it happens so casually and quickly, while the report system is clunky and inconvenient, so the very vast majority of these cases of Vote Dismissal abuse are never reported.


As such, I suggest for a button to be added to Vote Dismissals;

In addition to accepting or declining the Vote, please give us a button that both declines the Vote and automatically reports the Vote Initiator for abusing the Vote Dismissal system, i.e. attempting to kick people for "AFK" when they are clearly at the keyboard and responding, attempting to kick people for "Offline" who are clearly very much online and so on.

The Vote Dismissal system should not be a "Get Out of Duty Free"-card.

I know that it would be quite possible for someone to votekick someone just because they aren't up to their standards of say gear or skill. Yes, it's very annoying when there is a member who just doesn't pay attention or learn no matter what. But, from what I can tell stupidity is not a permissible option. I haven't specifically heard of someone doing this, but I have heard of people complaining about unskilled players, and who would no doubt be tempted to do so. Among those, there would no doubt be those who yield to this and vote kick someone for a reason that isn't allowed. (in so far as if this should be allowable however, is another issue)

I have seen ppl doing above. But tbh the suggestion is meaningless, if a report button is added, for what reasons someone has been kick will not press it?
Moreover, it is impossible to judge every report. I have seen ppl input something on chat windows right before voke kick to make the kick reasonable. ^^;

I agree with this.

I got Vote Kicked from Ramuh because my Egi was attacking Ramuh and not the adds, despite the fact that everyone was focussing on the same add, rather than approaching different adds. Getting Vote Kicked for not knowing the mechanics of a battle, especially when you're new to it is unacceptable. Luckily I could look through the chat log to determine who it could have been that initiated the Vote Kick, as they were the one complaining about my Egi. Therefore I have reported abuse of the system against them, and they should get what they deserve for abusing a system that's for dismissing abusive or AFK players, not players that are new to a Duty.

The unfortunate thing was that the very next Duty had the same person that Vote Kicked me, and they started verbally abusing me. ><

I'm a lot lower than you guys - currently lvl 40 on my Thaumaturge. I've been concentrating on hunting, etc., so I've just got around to Blayflox.

Made the mistake of fiddling with my crossbar settings beforehand. Although I'm obviously a DPS (linen cowl, etc.), the other three party members seemed to think I should be the tank, plus the healer seemed to be focused on attacking and using Stoneskin, rather than healing ... and no-one gave any hints as to how to approach each phase, as they seemed to be high-level players that had been through it a few times already. Unfortunately, typing responses was a pain, as I use a PS4. Just got a keyboard, so should be easier from now on.

So, I died about 5-6 times. Next thing - I'm kicked out.

That's right. Vote Kick is deemed abuse of the system if it is used to kick a player that for any reason other than harassment, or a player who has disconnected or gone AFK, which is what the feature was designed for. As Cassandaria said above, if you can remember the names of the people in the party, then you should definitely report it.

I find if you say hello at the start of a party, usually people will say hello back. This is then a record of who you were in a party with. XD
