    You missed the whole point, good job. I can't imagine how you manged to ignore 25 pages of complaints and talk about an irrelevant issue. But kudos.

    The problem is elite marks die far too easily. Hell, you're practically PUNISHED for being a nice person and waiting for others to arrive.
    IMO the solution is easy though, someone else mentioned this, but 1 hit = contribution. If you spot it and attack it, you should get full credit, because frankly, THIS ISN'T A FATE SO DON'T TREAT IT LIKE ONE SE.

    Hunts are pretty bad now, yeah.

    As I mentioned in my thread(http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-in-many-cases) there are a NUMBER of technical issues making the hunt difficult to play, but furthermore:

    I have yet to see a hunt end without people swearing at each other, venting in frustration, or a fight. People kicked from parties or LS for pulling the enemy or people who are kind enough to wait for others losing contribution or becoming unable to see the enemy as people flock in.

    Atma had a lot of complaints too, but at least it didn't turn players against each other. The way hunts are currently designed have gone a long way to make Eorzea an unpleasant place to be. The reward for the hunt is just far too valuable, and the way it's currently designed is going to lead to lots of miserable players and community. It's really brought out the worst in people more than anything else I've seen in the game thus far, and this is but a mere day in.

    Well remove sand and no one in their right mind would do the hunt.

    It seems to me that originally it was SE's intention to make hunts like NMs, where the rewards only benefited the taggers. But then wanted it to make it fairer for people that were unable to tag.
    The rewards from daily and weekly hunts (7+20) as well as the exchange rates for items is evidence that they didn't expect people to accumulate seals this fast, looking at people that have 3/4 sands already by day 3.
    That perhaps they made a mistake for distributing seals, ie.
    S-rank, 50 spread out to the number of contributors (many parties)
    A-rank, 20 seals between a party or 2
    B-rank, 5 seals between a few people.
    It sounds to me like they just copied and pasted the reward algorithms from fates.

    A friend of mine got a sands in 3 hours.

    3 hours.

    And that is why the system is broken. It's too easy to get items for gearing up, it rewards players for being dicks and screwing over other players.

    Honestly, if this is the way they want to play it can I suggest removing wolf marks from Frontlines and giving out Allied seals there?
    After all, pvp items are now worthless since Wolves Den is dead and morale is no-longer used.
    But the fact that a sands of time can be earned in 3 hours, maybe 2 days if you're unlucky, and earned unlimitedly while the current system exists, it spits in the face of everyone doing coil.

    It actively punishes those who don't have time to do hunts and those who don't have the time/internet/patience to do scob. If this was meant to be the alternative ilvl110 gearing to coil.........sucks to be a casual, since the rewards are so great in terms of myth/sol/items that all the hardcore players I know are hardcore hunting this.

    Ah yeah, that one casual raid that you know inside out in like three runs, about two hours of cutscenes, house-only content, and a Primal who barely anyone on is doing because they're too busy hunting 'till their eyes bleed before the sands get nerfed.

    At least the new 4mans look pretty. I wonder which one will turn into the new Brayflox once this hunting fad dies...

    Let me be clear here: Not only are hunts themselves bad, they're driving people out of other content who want the easy (and fast, repeatable, unlimited) way to Sands. That's going to make the game a very boring place very quickly, if the equivalent of max-level FATE grinding is our new optimal source of loot.

    Well, in SE's word, "we will provide more ways of getting XXX in the future update", and here it is. SE don't give a dxxn about if you take it or not, if they give it to you, they've given it to you.
