Blame the players, i was having fun hunting until a bunch of afkers decided to make hunt liknshells so they could get to every hunt in time w/o having to look for them.

I was killing an A rank with a random guy, we had it under the 50% when a full LS appeared and restarted the mob by getting it out it's spawn area to zerge it in matter of seconds nullifying all my credit.

It is? We were promised the exact opposite. The most recent occasion was on Monday in the Letter from the Producer. As for waiting for it to spawn again, that is a meaningless comment. B Ranks give 5 Marks (Yippee), A Rank 20, S Rank 50. I ran to an S Rank earlier in Southern Thanalan the moment somebody in my LS announced they'd found it. It was not claimed or engaged at the time. By the time I got there after immediately teleporting to Forgotten Springs, it was dead. An S Rank! It's just terribly flawed in every possible way.

Yes, I tried to kill it with a group and only got 1 mark, 2 myth and 1 soldiery.

I am sure if I would of found it alone killed it would of gotten the 5k and 20 marks.

though you are right, it is kinda low hp and dies way too quick, should be set for a lot of people to do it.

This is an oversight that is simply unforgivable. How could they possibly think that the average player would respect and appreciate their fellow players enough to work together so everybody gains maximum credit from a monster? There's too much faith put in the general playerbase with this system; specifically that people would respect other players's needs to attack things for a set period of time to gain credit.

And I wish that was sarcasm but it's not. It's the damning truth. Combine this with the fact that when I purposefully waited to let people engage it on my latest A Rank I got nothing, it's a terrible, terrible system. It's a vicious cycle of greed. They expect us to work together so everybody gains, yet doing so can actually lead to us not gaining full credit? You can't blame people for murdering something as fast as they possibly can when the system is designed so that this is their only chance of potentially getting maximum credit.

yep, SE stop creating content that only certain groups of players can converge on and corner for themselves. Open the game up to everyone, especially since you think locking SCoB down was such a great idea, you're essentially locking players out of this stuff as well.

The funny thing is I do SCoB weekly. Compared to that, I thought hunting would be chilled, enjoyable and relaxed. I've gotten more irritated today than I have doing any of the original or Second Coil since release because I am completely powerless to do anything to be better at this hunting. At least in SCoB, you can improve and do better with time. I can't improve my chances of getting credit on hunt marks. Kind of ironic that their 'hardcore' content is more relaxing than something that was clearly not designed with hardcore players in mind.

The reason you're seeing this behavior is because of the Sands and Oil of Time on the vendor. I don't think it's a terrible system, it just shouldn't be giving people end-game gear.

Yeah, bad players should COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHERS IN A MMORPG. How dare they!

its expected whoever claims and kills gets the full reward.

Yeah. I claimed the not-valkrum-emperor in South Shroud, then stopped attacking him and called people to test the system (I'm a SCH, so virtually immortal against most mobs) and got the low reward.

The only time I managed to get something was when a the S Rank Mob spawned in Mor Dhora, and that's because he has a skill that let him reflect attacks, so people couldn't zerg him (it was actually pretty nice, plenty of people came, his HP didn't go down pretty fast and everyone left pretty satisfied)

I'm calling it now. Someone gonna call us out for complaining as noobs or skilfulness peeps and the current design is made for ppl that wanted a challenge.

Everyone is complicating this too much, you see the monster, you attack it, you kill it, and if you can do so it's because: 1 you're lucky, or 2 you have been working for it, this is not a fate, not a dungeon, nor odin or behe, if you want to hunt with ppl go ahead, what you can't do is telling a whole LS about the monster and hold it and restart it so "everyone" can get credit.

The next time you see one of them attack it, if any other hunter is looking for it you'll have his/her help, but if you tell others via ls, joe A, crafter B, afker C and gatherer D will get there with a bunch of players to ruin the hunt and get credit w/o deserving it.
