What difficulty. People have completed it on first day, with 23 complete strangers, with everyone being clueless to the fight.
Is that difficult? I imagine in a week when everyone is familiar with it, it will be a boring cakewalk.
Depends on how the fights get explained as well.. More often than not it's along the lines of 'omg noob' this and 'lol you suck' that .. Not saying that's what happened in your case, and obviously there are people doing it on purpose as well, especially on launch day of new content. And well, there's always the language thing, not everyone will understand an explanation done in English, or might misunderstand...
I guess what I'm getting at is that people in general should be a little more understanding, and think before they go ranting in party or alliance chat, or playing the blame game on forums ... That might be too much to ask though![]()
My FC first try ended with a vote abandon. We were all new and didn't know what to expect. An alliance member tried to explain everyone what we were supposed to do, unfortunately he was doing it during the fight so not everybody was able to pay attention. However, our second try was really smooth. When we cleared it we had still 40minutes and with no wipes at all.
I was surprised and pleased, I know that it will not be always like that but It really was fun and relaxing. Sometimes you can't just avoid being pissed off, but it is such a pity: it spoils your game experience regardless your "right" to feel frustrated or not.
The first few times can be a bit confusing, it's only the second day and most people still haven't done it. I ran ST today for the first time. It was a very fun raid, but the first boss took me by surprise as well, and even though they had roughly explained the strat first, it still took a wipe to connect what was said in chat to what was happening on screen. Positioning is something that comes with practice.
It's not about perfection - It's about listening, as the rest of my post stated, you kind of left that important fact out. Nothing will be perfect but if you flatout not listen you'll never progress.
After 4 wipes and people still not listening makes it kind of obvious they're not listening, not just "taking time", they just won't listen to instruction. Has nothing to do with trolling, has to do with simply not listening to the people who patiently explain the fight to you, numerous times. That doesn't mean they're leeroying or stupid or trolls, it just means they require a little more time
TBH the first and 2nd bosses are the hardest of the tower. Bosses 3 and 4 are incredibly easy, and I'm surprised they weren't used as the first two bosses of the tower.
Cleared the tower with 21/24 new players, one guys was explaining before each fight (even trash)
It went surprisingly well (even if it was totally hectic) :
=> 1st boss : one wipe the time to get the mechanics right. Then it was half "I know what to do" and half "OMG a fireball is coming gotta run", but we managed to live through till adds. Then we zerged it (multiple death but multiple epic raises and great tank swaps. I think the 3 of us died on that fight at some point, but thankfully we got back in right after).
=> 2nd boss : one wipe due to a robot going everywhere, the second time was cakewalk. People still going random but usually they became great bait for the small bots
=> 3rd boss : surprisingly, no error were made. At all.
=> 4th boss : We got some trouble with the black orbs and nearly wiped on 2nd teleport, but it was pretty good. Once more, we tanks had to rotate due to dropping dead (that guy hits like a truck seriously. If the raid takes idiotic damage, the tank is done for) but it went well.
TL;DR : you can pass the CT2 with around half the people knowing what they're doing as soon as at least 2/rd of the tanks and healers know what to do, in order to prevent stupid wipes.
After wiping over and over it became blatantly apparent why most players can't succeed in endgame.
The boss only has 5 or so mechanics, and a very forgiving time period to complete them. Still... there are people freezing other people, people evaporating safety pools, people lunching around in AoE. And after wiping multiple times, when someone tries to explain why people are dying over and over, they get yelled at for being bossy or told to STFU.
No one checks tooltips
No one wants to listen
Sure its the first day, but none of this is rocket surgery.
This raid should be called "Circus Tower" amirite?!
Welcome to what modern MMOs have let the playerbase become. After 5-6 wipes onthe final boss one run last night someone was STILL asking for the yellow circles to be explained (for the 10th time).....
This is NOT COMPLICATED. You should have figured it out at most after 2-3 attempts since you would at that point have seen the mechanic 5-6 times at least.
Or the 6-7 wipes on the 2nd boss one attempt because people couldn't understand "bring an add to the spot marked and kill it"
Going blind into it and being blind are 2 different things. After 3-4 attempts everyone should at LEAST know what they should do... Even if they don't know WHY they are doing it
Uhh..... If you consider Syrcus Tower "difficult" there may be a problem. Besides this thread isn't about it being difficult this is about it catering to those lazies and low IQs you talk about... And them STILL failing.
I can ask any 5 year old on the street that if they have a fire and a ice cube how to melt it. I bet they can figure it out.
Or "Hey little kid. Stand in that big circle next to the blue light"
Want to guess how many people after 5-6 attempts were STILL NOT STANDING IN THE DAMN CIRCLE?
