yep, it's easy. just luck getting HQ storm riders to mooch. use sand leechs as bait

the painful part is the Fieldcraft Demi-Materia III apparently. you can buy them at AH once people start listing them, but first come first serve will spend a ton of money till prices eventually go down. unless you want to RNG and get them yourself

Not going to happen. I Desynthed every single one of my fish (plus over 300 2 Star Greens), as a Culinarian. Desynth Skill is now 99.37. I have a ton of Clear Demimateria III, but not a single Mastercraft Materia.

I had a nibble at 7:43 pm, during a Heatwave, and with 347 Gathering got the "Not enough Gathering" message. I am thinking right now that this is a Time: Any, Weather: Heatwave, catch. Perhaps time will tell me wrong, but I will be updating the Guide to reflect my current beliefs.

Pretty sure I hooked one at about 7am game time during a heatwave but it got away. I have 382 gathering, is it just not possible to get 100% on this guy?

You got VERY lucky too :-) I had 362 Gathering and it took me about 14 tries.
