Except that as she pointed out, they're trying to fix the "clunky" FATE mechanics. These new Elite Mark NMs are just like Boss FATEs, without the blue circle, that pop in random locations in the zone, and don't have a timer. And they probably won't have the "chance of a FATE occurring will increase the more time passes since its last occurrence" part, so the time between these spawns could be anywhere from regular enemy respawn to Behemoth/Odin respawn or even longer. People complain about FATEs all the time, but the moment they introduce something that's a FATE without calling it a FATE all the haters are like "See, now this is how they should do things!"That doesn't negate the fact that it's still a FATE. The same things many complain about whenever a new content including those is introduced. It's like they're saying "Oh, we know you guys aren't particularly fond of FATE, but here, have some more. YOU MUST LEARN TO LOVE IT!"
I personally wish they would stop using fates for everything, I really dislike them a lot and find them very repetitive and boring. If they overuse Fates for this it will probably ruin hunts for me which is the content I'm most excited for in this patch. Just my opinion on the matter, some people like Fates I guess but I will never support them, especially if I'm looking for specific ones and have to sit around waiting for it to pop.
Then we can argue every random spawn location can be borderline treated as a FATE? Or are you referring to something else? Mark on a map or no mark, each mob spawn, no matter how hard it is to defeat, unless it's spawned from a leve/treasure map, is zergable, like a FATE. Think we're talking about 2 different things here. The insane skill spam just in order to get a rank in a FATE is what seems to bother people the most. Button mash VS challenge. Hopefully, Hunts will be dealt with in a different manner.

I could be wrong (and I hope I am), but looking at the recent letter from the producer pics, daily hunts might be worth 8-20 seals (maybe not he highest?) and you can do 5 per day. Maybe somebody could translate the text. I'm going to guess that weekly hunts will be 800-1000 seals and maybe 50-100 without the quest. Also, seeing how the ilvl 70 armor ranges to up to 1,000 seals, I'm going to assume that oil/sand will be 2-3k each. Alexandrite might be more.
I counter with this quote.
Which reminds me, I know a lot of players have been concerned this will be like back in the day, where one player or party would claim an enemy, and lock everyone else out from getting a reward. You'll be happy to know that the Hunt was not designed with any such claiming system in mind. In fact, some of the elite marks are so powerful, it would be in your best interest to shout for help before trying to lay a hand on them. I've also heard the more elusive elite marks drop rare items as well. These rare items are distributed on a player-by-player basis, so don't hesitate to reach for a helping hand.
Yep its just as I feared. Aparrently you can actually get 5 regular hunts each day. 2 of mine were fates. One was a level 3 in north shroud, lol, took about 10 mins to pop and 5 seconds to kill. Now standing in east shroud waiting for Volxia fate to pop for about 15 mins now. Who knows when it will pop. These 2 have turned 10 mins of daily hunts into what may end up being over an hour of mostly waiting around.
Working as intended. I feel like there's some quote about putting make-up or lipstick on a pig........Yep its just as I feared. Trash mobs and FATE monsters...... BUT WAIT! WE CALLED THEM SOMETHING ELSE NOW TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT. The whole system is absolutely no surprise to me, it doesn't matter what you call NMs, FATEs, or trash mobs. It's all just a zerg with different rewards in the end.
