Tired of "JP ONRY"? Let's bridge the language gap!

Not all Japanese players are as narrow-minded as you seem to think they are. I've been with a lot of JP-speaking groups that have been very pleasant to play with. You need to broaden your horizons, and start giving people more credit. The "It's not going to work, so don't even bother" attitude is never going to solve anything.

I've played FFXI from PS2 beta in 2002 until 2010, mainly with Japanese players because the game was not localized back then.
It's not as you think. But have fun.

If you were on a NA server you wouldn't see a single JP only group or even have the problem you are having.

Then you need to take some English speaking lessons yourself because I stated,

Not going to work, you'll still be the little Gaijin, no matter if you speak broken Japanese or not.
It's their culture. There may be exceptions, but the majority of them rather plays with their own kind.

It is 90% of the time a communication issue and not because they're racist. If you can communicate with them just fine, they'll have no problem partying with you.

Also, to be frank, JP players are, on average, more competent than NA players. NA CT, for example, is a cluster eff of chaos and insults. JP CT is almost criminally organized and a pleasant experience. But that's just my view on it, as someone who has played with both communities.

You've obviously have been on the JP Servers for too long if you can't even deduce when someone's being sarcastic. Seriously, if you don't want any problems with communication join an English server. There are other ways to learn a language.

Similar to English groups having nice guys and a**holes, the same applies to Japanese groups.

Like joining Levi EX parties:

Good English groups: "You'll be OT, okay?"
Bad English groups: "Link your ilvl110 weapon now" -> kicked as you won't be bothering with this group if you had that weapon

Good Japanese groups: "Can you ST?" (probably kicked as you don't know what is ST)
Bad Japanese groups: Some Japanese chat -> kicked as you had no idea what is going on

You will need enough Japanese to know what is going on/ team's strategy in second coil, I'm afraid. Though really nice groups will link you a video. Would probably suck a lot (for them) if they said burn boss, and you went ahead and whacked T6 jellies while their melee just LB2'ed the boss.

Sarcasm is not easily detected through text....

And honestly, I'm not having issues on this server. I never said I was. All i said was that I want to be able to communicate with more players. I only used the "Tired of JP ONRY groups" as a tagline to get people's attention. Aaand, I didn't say "I'm tired of JP ONRY groups".

Personally, I can understand why there are JP only groups...it's mostly due to communication issues. Well...here I am trying to actually do something about it.
