Disaster in the Darkhold seems to be a fitting title for what is looking like an epic failure waiting to happen.

We need to wait and see what's going to happen before making any judgement, good or bad. While I loved the video, I admit that the editing of it didn't make much sense. They kind of tossed you around here and there without much reason, and then slapped some split CS' in there. From a director's point of view, not the best video, but as far as the changes that have been made + the content, I think it will be fun.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
vid looked horrible on my hdtv. but the dungeon is still something i'm looking forward to playing. but with the info on company added to the info, i'd have to agree with the negative people. this game is gonna fail and fail hard, dungeons won't hold most players down and the company stuff isn't gonna be something that people will log in ..nor pay for. u can add a reward system and change the names, but quests are quests and that is all this is gonna be. i can guess it will be lots of repeatable crap like leves, lot of solo play stuff(crap) the idea of ships don't seem like it will ever happen, and if it does it won't be till we pay off the already rich enough peoples up top in the se world (not gonna happen)
but anyway lol, yay to dungeons they will give us some fun, but boo to company's(witch will be the stuff they expect you do play around with all week while doing dungeons barely)
As in parties will fail until they figure out how to fight as a team or as in the dungeon will be a failure in general?
Oh and video quality wise, I think Tibian meant the way the various scenes were set up and how the video just jumped around from point to point.
Probably just a quick preview video, since in depth S-E trailers are usually better:

They started with you entering the dungeons => went to the end boss (what I am assuming is the boss anyways) CS (Bogys) => Back to the start of the dungeon => Back to the end CS with the boss => Back to the Dungeon => Showed the Boss in the CS.We need to wait and see what's going to happen before making any judgement, good or bad. Think they tried to build suspense with what was coming in the CS... sorta made the movie very choppy that I agree with.
Not really. Get some great story content rolling, non-story battle content people can enjoy on a regular basis, some great cutscenes, and build on more things that made XI great + modern MMO improvements + things to separate XIV from the pack, and you've got a good game going.vid looked horrible on my hdtv. but the dungeon is still something i'm looking forward to playing. but with the info on company added to the info, i'd have to agree with the negative people. this game is gonna fail and fail hard, dungeons won't hold most players down and the company stuff isn't gonna be something that people will log in ..nor pay for. u can add a reward system and change the names, but quests are quests and that is all this is gonna be. i can guess it will be lots of repeatable crap like leves, lot of solo play stuff(crap) the idea of ships don't seem like it will ever happen, and if it does it won't be till we pay off the already rich enough peoples up top in the se world (not gonna happen)

These two dungeons arent meant to be the end all saving grace of the game as they are rebuilding the game's core features from the ground up. And no its not going to be solo play stuff since they've already stated what will be used/reworked for solo content to this point. Go back and check out some of Yoshi's translated posts and recent letters.

Fun fact, The Executioners is the name of a band of pirates in limsa that you have a bit of contact with during the mrd class quest line.
Not all of limsa's Sea Born wealth redistribution engineers swing an axe. It just seems that the one captain and crew that allows us barnacle bait to walk the decks of there ship and throw in with them from time to time prefer to heft there steel in that way.

One word to describe this video is "bland." Uninspired environments, reskinned mobs, slow combat, and boring overall.
Yeah, I get that they were trying to get some sort of suspense to see the boss, which is a good tactic for a video, they just didn't pull it off very well. Not to say I didn't like the video, but it indeed was very choppy and kind of pulled away from the effect they were trying to pull of. But alas, it's just a dungeon video, not a game trailer. They started with you entering the dungeons => went to the end boss (what I am assuming is the boss anyways) CS (Bogys) => Back to the start of the dungeon => Back to the end CS with the boss => Back to the Dungeon => Showed the Boss in the CS.

As it has been stated multiple times before:
New mob-types come with expansions usually
Better to use dungeons already in the game for the first dungeons rather than leaving them in the corner
and
Be happy we're getting anything at all. Yoshi-P already said they're somewhat stretching it and being risky by releasing these dungeons and the Ifrit fight as soon as they are, but since the players are barking for content, they had to. I'm sure in the future we'll be receiving more "inspired" zones. And I wouldn't complain about slow-combat until we see what happens with the adjustments they make to AA after it is released.
