One more thing, i think the item should be earned like an event or contest reward, i actually disagree with selling it in the mogstation.

I get the unhappiness at missing out on Fanfest goods (I wanted the moogle shield from a past XI fanfest soo much) but I can't in any mind think of any good coming from making them available for sale outside of Fanfest. These are items, real or digital, that are only available once (normally) for a limited time, from a specific venue, and only if you actually went there to attend. This is not a thing limited to this game. Game companies have been doing this for years. Companies in general have been doing this for decades! Pokemon is rife with pokemon that have seen limited release in limited timeframes in specific countries (mainly Japan), alot of which are normally untradeable (though that hasn't stopped cheaters from finding a way). I'm perfectly willing and capable of living without getting Fanfest goods after-the-fact, they are exclusive to Fanfest and should stay that way (Ebay not withstanding).

It boils down to, people think they should be entitled to everything. Which is a terrible sad thing that hopefully SE does not accept.

You have the option to go, if you do not have the money then you cannot. I did not have the money to ever go to a FFXI Fan Fest so I do not obtain the item.

If they make it digital it will lower the incentive someone might want to go to the actual event. Yes its only ONE single vanity item, but the fact that it is exclusive people would like to obtain it.

You are the one who "can't understand" why I disagree, then it's you who is missing the point, not I. You also claim I'm not listening, and I haven't given a reason why it should be exclusive. Take a look at yourself mate, you aren't listening, I stated a reason - it's a special reward for those who have made the effort to get themselves to that event in person ( some of whom will have made sacrifices in order to get there)

You can assume what you like, it doesn't make it fact. I would love whatever this special item is, for reasons I've already stated previously - its exclusive, it makes you stand out etc.

Why should I leave this thread alone? I'm trolling because I disagree with you? No. This thread is petitioning for an exclusive item to be added some other way than attending the live events, I disagree. If someone started a petition thread to add cars into the game I would express my view on that too, its no different.

Judging by the other posts on this thread I'm not alone on this matter. You just need to get your head around the fact that other people won't always share the same view as you, and if you don't understand that, that's your problem.

And the person you replied to is right, you're basically refusing to see their side because you disagree.

Personally i don't care about the item, unless it's something i want desperately, don't think so, but this is an important matter for some ppl and SE will have to respond sooner or later, remember you can't toss the word exclusivity so easily when you're charging money for a service.

They have to give the playerbase a fair way to obtain it, even if only a few can.

Actually, yes they can. People have this odd notion that by paying for the service, ie the ability to play the game, they should always have an opportunity to get something, always. The items, physical or digital, that they give at an event like this are meant to show these people thanks for supporting the company and their event. They can't make an event like this, AND make it equally fair for everyone to get to, it would cost too much.

This is not the first fanfest. They always give a special in game item for the people who attend. And have never given it out to others. And I hope they don't change that. If you can't make it, sucks to be you.
It's been this way for God knows how. Many years for ffxi and I don't they'll change it. And hope they don't.


And before anyone jumps down my throat about "well you just don't want people getting your items" I'm not even going myself. Can't afford to. Does that mean I think we should all be entitled to the times? Nope. Let the people who go have there exclusives. It's something nice to show "hey, I got here. This is my thing."

As for cash shop. Honestly, no more cash shop items. The fact that they put Fantasias on there already has people pushing for other things. Fantasia are nice, but that needs to be the end of that.

I really don't think there should be any exclusive in game items for those who attend unless they are going to offer some sort of virtual ticket such as the one Bliizard offers. This is a real-life convention so the perks for attending should stay that way. If you live close to the convention you immediately have the benefit of having to pay way less than someone who lives all the way across the country or in a different country altogether.

FFXI did it this way? Cool, FFXI is an old game with old standards. FFXI didn't even have official forums until Yoshi-P came along and set them up for FFXIV. Let's move out of the dark ages of gaming and into the present please.

Cosmetic or not, when it costs next to nothing for one person to attend the convention while it costs someone else an arm and a leg, there should be no exclusive in game items. Blizzard is learning, even items that were previously only sold at their conventions are now being sold on their official store. I think it would be wise for SE to stay ahead of the game. They've been doing a decent job so far, why stop?

How can you agree with items being obtained exclusively from an event you have to pay to go to but not from a cash shop? How are they different? The fact that one costs dramatically more than the other?

As long as it's not items that will give an unfair advantage. I fail to see how selling in the mogstation is a problem.

Failure always start with baby steps , in few years it might end as Pay to win game , thats how everything started .
