I thought we were talking about new crafting gear, not crafted gear.

idk about obviously, the pvp gear all has slots...except the accessories. So it's clear SE knows what happens with accessories; vit buffs. So it's entirely plausible they'll make crafted i90 accessories that don't have slots because they'd be more powerful. But the other side of the coin is they're completely worthless if they don't.
And no SE rep has come in here talking about crafting accessories, only a new (main but probably means offhand) tool.
You have an odd way of wording it then. From last page:

Crafter ilvl is only relevant to the point of being able to put Tier IV materia in it. It doesn't matter if our upgrade is an i55 or an i115, as long as it's an upgrade in stats.
People are able to distinguish between 2 trains of thought right?
Yeah that was the original conversation, then someone brought up the incoming crafted i90's that, confirmed or not, are pretty common knowledge there's at least a chance of, someone says they'd rather them not be meldable to avoid needing to re-penta meld things, I point out if they are slotless they're useless.
All caught up?
all of the sudden... Camate went silent. lol
Silent? Probably read our stuff and is seeking clarification from the guys who make the big bucks.
Not that it matters, but it's all there on the past few pages. People were talking about both kinds of jewelry. The DoW/DoM accessory recipes are more or less required to have any use for new crafting gear, while the person in question would like the new crafting gear to not require materia (if it's jewelry, or perhaps no matter what equipment slots they occupy). Pretty straight forward. Nobody wants to get [only] new recipes that are completely useless and any new gear that's added should ideally be like the artisan stuff -- cross class and no materia (for armor).People are able to distinguish between 2 trains of thought right?

For this, eh, I hope he's at least double checking to make sure he was correct with his last post because it honestly makes very little sense. I haven't been crafting/ gathering for long, but I do have MIN done (more or less -- can mine whatever without food), BOT on it's way, and have been working on materia to get my crafters through some bottlenecks. I don't mind if I'm going to be replacing tool, headpiece and perhaps one or two more items with upgrades in the immediate future, but it would be quite annoying if I'm going to be grinding for a new primary tool only to be able to grind for a newer primary tool. I don't mind the silver brocades and such so much since my gatherers are leveled, but the vanya silks and the like are prohibitively expensive when talking about several crafting jobs.

Wasn't meaning to be snippish, just amazed at the number of responses which assume the Dev post is wrong just because people don't like the information it contained. Yoshi-P mentioned in one of the E3 interviews that there had been requests for crafters to be able to upgrade their blue tools in the same way that DoW classes upgrade their relic weapons and he said that they had something like that planned. Seems far more likely that this is it - rather than Camete mixing up primary tool and offhand.
