    If they did with the off-hand tool as they did with the headpiece, the new off-hand tool would not require any materia melding. Instead, it would come with built-in stats better than a fully-melded off-hand tool. Since an off-hand tool can't actually be fully melded, I don't actually know what those stats would be, but there you go.

    That's pretty much the biggest reason I find it unlikely that SE will be upgrading the off-hand tool anytime soon. Either it will be too good (having stats that are better than what you get by melding millions of gil worth of materia into the old off-hand) or it won't be good enough (having stats that are LOWER than said off-hand, meaning folks will be reluctant to invest in a piece that can never be best-in-slot).

    Seriously, how ridiculous. So basically all my time spent getting 50 HQ items to make the weapon was a waste. I know gear becomes obsolete but you could add the off-hand and the remaining i70 gear first.

    we can really use some new gear especially jewelry!!!!! and of course offhand
    and who says they cant add an offhand for fisher.. maybe a tackle box or a small dipnet to catch the fish once u reeled them in

    Let me guess, it involves having to desynth something at 100 skill level in that particular craft to get an item used in a 3 star synth to make the new primary tool? That sounds about right. Seeing as you can't have more than 300 points at any given time in desynthesis, this would create another epic resource drain that seems to be the norm.

    dont worry the new tools will be hard to get only for hardcore DoH/DoL.. where you have to craft, fish, chop and mine atma while inside Fates Areas..

    I swear we better not have to desynth the tools. I'm still working to get my ARM hammer since I don't have every craft maxed so it's taking longer (i don't have a perfect ability rotation for the 100% success method). If it does, it damn well better be a 100% success rate on the rare item because I don't think ANYONE here wants to go through all that crap again.

    If they had introduced crafted i90 accessories in the last big patch, that would have opened a huge market for crafters. Even though you can get i100 soldiery items easily, it would serve as a stop-gap and would have the bonus of offering extra HP by putting vitality on it.

    I think by the time they allow for crafted i90 jewelry, soldiery will become uncapped for the week and i120 or something will be out.
