Dunno, just something ive heard, that you cant go lower than 2.25s without some form of buff.
Well, the next visible decrement would be 2.24s, which would be at 612/613 speed. So if someone can actually reach THAT much spell speed WITHOUT any buffs... well, we can find out.

Though I do not know if it is possible to break 600 spell speed with current gear, and NO selene buff.

Hello there, I playing SMN, I wish to ask question and hopefully answer please

Does SSPD matter to SMN compare to BLM? I fully aware that SSPD working differently for each classes/jobs

Will 600-700 SSPD make anything for SMN? or its does not help much?

I read Puro table and I find that really fascinating so I wonder if this could adapt for SMN as well

For SMN, offhand about 1/3 of your dps is from your pet, and 1/3 is from dots.
Your pet's autoattack will always have a 3s recast, no matter your spell speed.
And dots all tick on the 3 second global timer, once per Eorzean minute, so again, no benefit from spell speed.

Sadly this leads to a slightly annoying gear issue. Although SMN and BLM share almost all of their gear right now, the fact that SMN sees so little benefit from SPD, causes the BiS sets to kinda conflict.

So at least with my equations, I expect that you'll have a 2.26s GCD at 592, 2.25s at 602, and 2.24s at 612.
If 2.25s is not a cap, then 621 should put you at 2.232s and 651 should put you at 2.203s.
That said, I dont know if food counts as a buff, like Selene, but if you (or some lucky very geared person) can do 621 without food, then we'll have an answer. =)

I'm looking to restat my black mage as currently my ACC is too low. I'm just curious as to what is the most beneficial way to restat my character. I've looked through the thread but some of it is confusing. Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for stats. Gear wise I get but I've been reading a lot of stuff all over and just wanna make sure I set up my stats right.

Cool. I am looking forward to it. I am currently sitting on a level 33 BLM (as of my last dungeon) and will be leveling up again as soon as I hit my next dungeon. Slowly working my way towards fifty BLM. I am really enjoying this class a great deal atm as it is hugely easier than Summoner from where I am standing.

I was hoping to see what the new stat weights and stuff were.

Also, a friend of mine came out with a stat weight calculator on google spreadsheets for Summoner at the following link:

with it one can simply input their stats for a particular gear set and compare it to the stats for another particular gear set and see which is the better gear set. I was wondering if something similar could be constructed for Black Mage?
