I wonder how things would be if they made Coil a loot lockout like CT...
Well, other than groups being able to obtain gear 4x as fast... Would that be so bad?
Grab your static - FC - LS - friends, whatever, and go beat up Coil.
As it stands, a group of 8 people who downs 6-9 will get I believe 8 gear drops, 2 sands, 2 oils, and an unidentified tome. For a total of 13 items across 8 people.
Now if we make coil a 1 item loot lockout, then those 8 people will get a total of 8 items... LESS than the current system... assuming they down T9 which drops 4 things.
Perhaps a 2 item lockout would work, if the coding isnt too difficult. Then 8 people can get 16 items, IF they want to most likely farm a given turn a couple times.

aside from lockouts and statics i still don't get why they felt the need to raise the difficulty so much, aside from slowing progression for everyone and fake "longevity".
turn 1 was pretty doable by a decent pug-group in decent gear. you might have a few wipes, but the mechanics weren't that difficult to overcome. turn 6 in comparison feels even more like a brick wall than titan ex. some people rejoice in that, but overall i don't think it's the right direction. i can't even imagine beating that with a pug after the nerfs.

At what point did genuinely difficult become fake longevity? If it's truly difficult it isn't fake. Fake longevity is what lockouts are, but actually difficult content is in no way fake.
