Switching crossbars only takes one button press, unless you're using Summoner or Scholar (where the button instead switches you to the pet action crossbar). Even then, for WHM and SCH I have a macro attached to Cleric Stance that automatically switches between my healing crossbar and my dps crossbar when I activate/deactivate it, which is handy for WHM and invaluable for SCH.

you can actually toggle that off in crossbar/hotbar settings. helps a lot.
