The current numbers are stating that every 3.3 Det is equal to 1 Strength when it comes to how hard you hit, I believe. If you're looking to be a Tanky Tank, Det isn't vitally important unless you're not doing enough damage to hold threat against your party members.

If you're maximizing survival: Vit > Str > Parry > Det

If you're looking to deal a little extra damage: Vit > Str > Crit/Det > Parry

If you want to sacrifice mitigation for maximum damage: Str > Vit > Crit/Det > Parry

As for a precise amount of Det you want, there's no right answer for that. Just sacrifice whatever amount of Parry you're comfortable with losing for it if you want it higher.

Now that you put it like that, I don't really have too much trouble keeping hate. Occasionally on like a massive brayflox pull there will be a stray add that I can grab back with no issue. And since yeah I do prefer a Tanky tank I guess I'll just stay with my Parry build and leave my dps stats to my monk lol.

The mitigation of the latter spec is actually better than the former, although not by much. Vit is not mitigation, just HP.

Maximizing Strength will increase the percentage of damage reduced by a block or parry by 1, perhaps 2%. Given that this is for a Warrior, it only applies when an attack is actually parried, which a max strength build minimizes the chance of. Thus, I'd argue that overall mitigation is actually reduced if Str is pursued above all else.
