What happens with the people that already have their Animus or are very close from it?
I'm sure a lot of people will be almost done with the Animus quest by the time 2.3 lands, which will make all content give too many myths...many people will see themselves stacking a lot of myths inevitably, which will completely trivialize the Animus grind.
The issue here is...maaaaaaaany people will be stuck with too many myth, but the atma quest is still a massive brick wall...? Sorry but that doesn't make much sense to me. Wouldn't it have been more wise to reduce the grind from the Atma instead of turning the Animus into a FREE UPGRADE? Where's the sense in start handing out myths for free when probably no one's going to bother going through the atma horror story again (unless you want to end up in a hospital).
It really makes up for a VERY annoying scenario...your myth allowance capped and whispering you *do the atma quest...or we have no use!*. SE this is very cruel xD.
Really, Animus isn't even a problem here, unless you for some reason want to gear every single job with i90 (and not play them) you won't have much to do with myths either.
Yesterday I got my last book / Animus without grinding BL HM (those extra myths from DR helped a lot) and the main problem was not the myth requirement, was having to camp up to 4 hours for certain fates.
CT2 will most likely give a substantial myth payout and the other things will probably be increased. People will get so much myth complaining that their drop won't drop or getting outrolled on the tombstone.
Really the only reason animus takes a long time is the myth collection (which is already pretty easy currently if you do all the roulettes every day plus dailies, no speed running required even, that's like 400-500 myth a day so you could get a book every 3-4 days playing 2-3 hours a day and be done in a month give or take a week)
and
camping the FATEs which they said they were going to adjust (making it so FATEs that haven't spawned in a while get an increased chance to spawn when other FATEs are completed)
Can someone link exactly what changes the OP is referring to?
http://dtguilds.com
The Fates required for books definitely have been increased in terms of spawn rate. I have completed my white mage animus and am working on my scholar, and I've never had to wait more than 30-45 minutes for a Fate, and that's on the long end.
What i think the op is trying to say is that
1) yoshi has no plans of changing the atma drop rate in the future.
*perhaps 2.4
2) animus is still a grind cuz you still got that pesky 2000 myth cap
Which forces you to spend myth before you hit that cap and waste it unlike alexandrite which stacks to an infinite amount * so no pressure.
3) the animus fates can drive ppl mad with it\\'s low spawn rates which can gate ppl and force them to a halt from going on to the next book. * you can only have 1 book at a time. Thus causing ppl to spend myth they wanted to use for the future books.
4)a lot of ppl are always like
"Oh yea np, i\\'m pretty rich from selling crafted stuff" or " i make a lot of gil from gathering " or " we sell content carries so my fc and i are pretty rich" . Ok there bono, we all get. So gil shouldn\\'t be much of a problem for ppl wanting to make their dream novus.
5) animus = rng and crazy myth grind, gil can\\'t buy you progress here.
Novus = a less tedious grind and caters to ppl with gil and materia to spare.
