The Novus grind is getting easier...but the Animus...isn't...?

What happens with the people that already have their Novus or are very close from it?
I'm sure a lot of people will be almost done with the Novus quest by the time 2.3 lands, which will make the whole scenario give 2 alexandrites for free...many people will see themselves stacking a lot of alexandrites inevitably, which will completely trivialize the Novus grind.

The issue here is...maaaaaaaany people will be stuck with dozens of alexandrites, but the atma quest + the 9 books are still a massive brick wall...? Sorry but that doesn't make much sense to me. Wouldn't it have been more wise to reduce the grind from the Animus instead of turning the Novus into a FREE UPGRADE? Where's the sense in start handing out alexandrites for free when probably no one's going to bother going through the atma + books horror story again (unless you want to end up in a hospital).
It really makes up for a VERY annoying scenario...your inventory filled up with 100+
alexandrites whispering you *do the atma quest...or we have no use!*. SE this is very cruel xD.

Why is Novus free? You still need massive amount of materia if memory serves me right.

On Atma. Replace the 100% Random possibility of drop to a "each Fate has a 10% drop rate" and it wouldn't be THIS tedious. Doing 2 hours of fates in central shroud makes me want to kick Moogle cubs

Your memory serves you right, however, there's absolutely NO reason to spend tier IV materias which is what people are mindlessly doing. You can perfectly do:

    SCH: 21 DET, 33 Crit, 21 Piety
    WHM: 21 Det, 33 SS, 21 Piety
    DPS: 21 Det, 33 Crit, 21 Acc
    Tank: 33 Parry, 21 Det, 21 Acc

And bam! Your Novus no longer costs 4 million gil. Instead, it costs 300k gil.

If you're going through the trouble to get a Novus, why not make it a good weapon instead of just going with the cheapest possible alternative?

I don't know if it's that people can't read, or I have expressed myself poorly. The first sentence of my thread "what happens with the people that already have their novus or are are very close from it"?
Which means, you may want to do a second novus for a secondary job you also enjoy, but you are NOT going to spend 4-5 millions gil to increase your critical hit rate BY 1% ON YOUR SECONDARY JOB.
I honestly think you guys answer threads without reading and what is worse, thinking.

If I were to get a novus for my other jobs, I'd still make it as good as it can be. I wouldn't see it worth the trouble otherwise.

Depends on the person I guess. I've been stocking up on Materia for awhile I have 99 Savage Aim I/II/III/IV and 99 Savage Might I/II/III/IV I been buying them specifically for the reasons you said I wouldn't and I know other people will do that aswell

Spending millions of gil on a 1% dps increase seems kind of stupid to me.

And having accuracy on your weapon as a bard is very important with the Turn 8 pants. You'd need every single HA piece/upgraded solidery to make up for the acc loss or you'd have to rely on expensive food to keep your accuracy up.

What if 2-3 mil is nothing to some people? Is spending it still stupid? Not to mention you can SB and if you get lucky you can make more than you spend anyway.

And bam! You've spent 300k on a crappy Weapon. Let aside that Acc for example is pointless on a DPS Novus, since you can reach the ACC cap for T9 with Gear alone.
