Whatever helps you sleep at night dear~It kind of does make it right, because the people generally aren't passing it off as their idea, their style, or making money off of it. The idea of the meme is to just have fun and joke. No one think you came up with that drawing. If they do then you set them straight, this person is this thread is tracing and claiming its their own art. Thats the difference.

If that's logic then I must live in a different dimension. I don't know about you but I have frequented many art communities for a good half of my life. Seldom do people that do these "fun" memes credit the people that actually to the work. Seldom do they do it for fun~ They do it to ride the bandwagon and get their own egos stroked.
If fun is throwing someone else under the bus so that I can gain a couple page views, no thank you.
Except thats not what is happening it all? That image is the poster girl for a "Yandere" and when you google "Yandere" or "Yandere Face" you will either get the original art, or one of the memes that is quickly and easily traced back to the original art. That image might as well be the Mona Lisa of the internet. So when people do memes based on it, it isn't art theft, its more like a reference. Hell, google things like Mona Lisa and tack on "Parody".
It isn't art theft if everyone knows thats the point of the image. Kind of like how cosplayers aren't stealing when they cosplay, I doubt cosplayers get permission to use character designs. You just have to be intelligent and logical when it comes to things like this.

@Tule
That is NOT how it always happens though. There are people that have had their likeness and work used without permission. You're using best scenario case that worked out for the best to justify all the times that it has turned out wrong. Because "Yay~ its fun for me. That makes it ok."
Keep your skewed "intelligence" and "logic" along with all your self-severing interest. I'm done with this thread.

Mr. Spock would slap you for lack of logic.@Tule

Also I will now draw for peeps. First one is the kind lady who asked earlier in the thread.
You don't read do you? I never said it doesn't happen. I'm not saying it always happens that way. I am saying in that one scenario in that one example that you specifically attacked you are specifically wrong on that ... specific account. Again, you have common sense when dealing with various things that come up in life. You can't blanket statement everything. The reason common sense exist and is a phrase is because you should be able to understand things on a situation basis.@Tule

Also self serving? How? I think a meme is funny and know where the art originated from, how self serving of me to be aware of art and what is comical. Damn my knowledge for the things I enjoy.
