    Rep responded about that recently, it's still something that's planned in the tl;dr version. As for this:

    If it's something in an upcoming update, like an armor/weapon drop or NMs, they already do this -- doing it "just to excite people" though isn't a good reason, especially given that it could always change since they may need to modify color or change the shape, then all it does is cause people to complain that they were "lied to with the first screenshot you shown", since people have a knack for ignoring *content shown is in development and is subject to change.

    The only issues with releasing the minor stuff that I'm aware of are that:
    1. People tend to bitch when they don't get something substantial. (damned if they do, damned if they don't)
    2. Certain groundwork need to be completed before they can add a lot of these little features.
    Like you, I expect these sort of updates to come around 1.20+, after a lot of the base work is complete.

    You have a valid point except where it comes into the animation department. The animations need to be timed with the timing of the battle mechanics. After the changes they already made to speed up combat the animations now get a little goofy and choppy than what they used to be when the game first launched.

    This is something they will have to tweak afterwards.

    But Imagine those "extra" teams that you are referring to are working on new content like quests, additions to the game and what not. They aren't just sitting idlely by. However, to keep things organized and focused I think Yoshi-P is holding off on anything new being released until the combat stuff is done.

    This is probably to allow the community to adjust to the changes in battle mechanics. We are in a sense still a beta community. And Yoshi-P needs us to be a little focused on our feedback. He would probably prefer feedback on the battle mechanics when they release them and not have us complaining about the new content they released at the same time.

    This is all theory. And I'm sure none of you wanted to be beta testing either. But we wouldn't still be here if we didn't find the community and the game somewhat fun. The ppl that are still here are probably the ones that will be here for the long haul. Now it's just a process of rebuilding with what we got and get ppl to come back.

    Same for your arguments on the bosses and mobs: I agree those 2 teaser screenshots are pretty sad because it only shows copy & pasted mobs. But none of us have raided those dungeons yet, right? Again, pessimistic view is: "Oh, EVERYTHING is going to be copy & pasted. From the Dungeons to the Mobs and the Bosses." Optimistic view: "We hope there are some new monsters and bosses and new areas to raid in."

    Rewards: None of us have seen all the rewards / new items / armor / weapons from Patch 1.18, 1.19, so we won't know until those 2 patches hit if we've gotten any new Art Assets that way.

    Quest Hubs: Of course there are probably some reused props / items (crates, barrels, tent). But let's pass judgement on the Quest Hubs if they're 100% copy & pasted when we actually *see* them? Right?

    Beastmen Strongholds: Now you're just taking a negative view (your prerogative). That one screenshot of the Steampunk-looking area of a Beastman Camp in the Producer Letter looked pretty awesome. If you believe those were 100% done and fully textured, lit and completed already in our game, then more power to you. I believe that Beastmen Strongholds are things being developed still.

    Yes Ifrit is in the game, but are all of his different Attacks, Weaponskills, Final Attacks for his new playable encounter done? We saw a cinematic Ifrit (gorgeous), but what about the playable version where we fight him in real-time? For potential different stages of the Boss Fight? What about his Boss Arena? (If it's just the same area as the current storyline, then, sure, you're right that there's nothing there. But we don't know yet.)

    And what about the massive planning, concept work, 1st pass modeling / texturing / lighting / development / 2nd pass modeling / texturing / lighting / etc. of the Major Map Revamp in the massive R1 to 50 Zone Thread? I think changing the areas around all 3 Nations is a pretty big task that's going to take a long time (more than just a few months).

    Ultimately, after the dust settles from 1.18, 1.19 and 1.20, we can look back and see just how much or little the team has provided for us.
    I'm not talking about any youtube videos, went to all these places myself to get first hand, I dont rely on compressed low quality youtube. And I think it is funny you say unlit, and un/half textures. Nothing is like that in these zones. The only thing you dont see is the mobs in these zones, why would there be?


    Anywho you guys keep confusing what is being asked for.

    You dont need a battle system to show concept art
    You dont need animations to show concept art
    You dont need animations to show 3D Model design
    You dont need a battle system to show 3D Model design

    @Linkurrra I dont get what you mean by timed with the battle system, do you think each individual animation is made to suit every possible situation? Because it really doesnt work like that, Its a set animation skeleton. And you can see this by looking at the files. 1 Skeleton controls the animation for every piece of armor/weapon/spell effect for that character. You dont do it individually.

    So no you dont need a animations to show new gear.

    As for things like quests and stuff, SE should show they are working on these, they're in a dangerous spot of decreasing population and need to keep us hooked even it means posts of lore behind new quests. Much like they did with the 3 new factions a while back.

    They start something, but never stick with it.

    I'm sure SE have a reason for not showing off stuff. I mean they showed those 2 images which are apparently concept art for AF, that was before we even knew of a job system!

    Doubtful.

    If that was truly the case, they wouldn't have shown us the auto attack video.

    but back on topic yes it seems that updates are always delayed for some reason or another. I've enjoyed playing this game since the first alpha test. What you guys have here with almost daily feedback from the devs is a luxury to me.

    As for major changes... the last major change we had was switching the sp system from random sp during battle so a fixed amount awarded at the end of the fight. This tore up the rulebook. Pre-patch people were happily partying on free roaming mobs, post-patch was a different story...

    I'm just hoping this new approach will see a return to what was good about this game in it's early stages. I don't really care if it takes 2/3 weeks longer to achieve it.
