I always mark the Mobs if i do Solo DF, you never know what type of People you get. And Mobs that do AE´s should always be killed first.

For Warrior tanking (when you don't severely out-gear the content) start your pulls with tomahawk, run past the mobs, then turn around and throw down 2-3 overpowers. This will put plenty of hate on you and but the mobs' backs to the other party members. Having their backs to the party helps melee DPS do max damage and makes sure most of the AOEs will not be in their direction.
Marking the kill order can be useful, but only half the people in roulettes will follow it anyway. If they aren't following the marks, save yourself the hassle and just try to attack what the DPS are attacking.
Be flexible. A good leader isn't necessarily the boss. I'd rather clear a dungeon slowly or chaotically than sit around bickering or wiping out of stubbornness.
At gla/mrd levels. As a gla, spam flash until you rjn out of mp, then use riotblade combo to the target that you're closest to lose(a dps is damaging it and nearly pulling aggro off of you) I'd adive using this until you get RoH, then flash 3-4 times, then use enmitycombo to enemies as needed, if not needed you can use riotblade combo to get the mp back.
As a mrd, just overpower. I used to spamm it until my TP was at 300-500 then stop using actions and cucled through the monsters to see which might need some enmity combo. That way you should easily be able to hold aggro and by the time dps has finished with thw enemies, you should have TP nearly full/full. Thats how I used to level them before Jobs.
"Sent on Android device"People need to remember that a healer's job isn't to heal HP
but rather to prevent HP from reaching 0
thank you for the feedback.
I have very recently started on my tank path. if possible, how about crossclass abilities? PLD cross seems more useful than WAR. They do get a self heal from PUG it seems, some 15% evasion and an attack if you evade. from pali they need to go to lvl 34 to get the awareness. no?
Whereas PLD get SS
Also what about the ability distribution? There are alot of different opinions but i have gathered 3 popular ones
2:1 STR:VIT, 2:1 VIT:STR, 1:1, STR:VIT
Whats your pick on this.
Also some people say that full VIT on lvl 50 or stuff like that

I've put all 30 points into Vitality as PLD, and that's the general consensus for pure survivability. However, STR for MRD\WAR is good for its hate combos. I read somewhere in the forums STR for Warrior until 50, then respec to VIT.
For WAR there are different schools![]()
Depending on your gear, at some point you have so many HP that STR is considered better. Others like to have the biggest HP they can get.

For PLD cross-class skills: level Marauder to level 8 and you obtain foresight and bloodbath, good to have. I use bloodbath when available and foresight I alternate with rampart, bulwark and other mitigating buffs.
From Conjurer you get, up to level 8, Cure and Protect, very useful when solo playing, not that much when in a group, a healer will have them.
The best cross-class skill is Stoneskin, Conjurer level 34. Very useful but not really needed until you are already level 50. The same about Mercy Stroke, Marauder level 26. Nice when you have it, but not really necessary and needs to level to 26.
Most people put full VIT, at least when I leveled, since certain attacks in high level places may one-shot kill you if your HP are not high enough. Now you may reach that places already overgeared and total VIT is not necessary.

A War's cross class skills usually takes provoke (you need this at high level), convalescence (stacks beautifully with Thrill of Battle), Internal release from Monk. The other two are more up to whatever. I haven't found feather foot to be very good but at least it's there. You might take flash. Second Wind can do things. Mantra doesn't amount to a whole lot.
On stats on War: You won't get consistent answers. Some think strength is an abomination and you should be pure vit. I think that's silly. Vit can be helpful if your gear isn't up to content. But if you're not getting one-shot even more HP is just wasted. At ~i100 I'm 30 strength and using a couple strength accs in everything and holding up just fine.
its a sword how didnt you use a sword at this time in the game?
I would strongly disagree with just letting them do whatever. Instead, inform them that if they attack out of order and pull aggro, they have to tank that mob.
Convalescence only works with healing magic. It doesn't work with abilities.
