    What happened to FATE farming?

I've come back after like 4-5months back during 2.1. I'm leveling an alt, but I have noticed that the normal low-level FATE hotspots(grinding spots) are really empty. For example Quarrymill, Hawthrone Hut, and Upper La Noscea. Is this normal, or am I not on at the right times?

EDIT:Just checked Costa Del Sol and Camp Dragonhead...no one.

They upped dungeon exp to match. Add to that the bonus exp from daily roulettes and everything from the challenge log... and there's no reason for people to spam FATE's anymore. It was previously the fastest, easiest path to endgame, and that's not necessarily true anymore.

Best to save your fate grinding energies for atmas and alexandrites now.

How would doing a dungeon be faster than doing FATE's? It takes around 15 mins (depending on party or dungeon) to do a dungeon, but to do a FATE it takes less than 5 mins and you'll get the same amount of exp.Oh, and you have to factor in the time spent waiting in the qeue.

except you factor in the TOTAL exp from everything. 30-45 minutes from a dungeon and its 2kish for mobs at certain levels where a fate can only give 10k. 5 mobs and you got 10k, and you get gear, and an extra 100k exp at the end usually if its a low level dungeon. Dungeons really are the best way to level now. if you dont believe me go ahead and try it for yourself. Time your dungeon run and exp. then run fates for that long and measure your exp gained again. you will be floored.

^^ +1 - I dropped into a dungeon and guild roulette last night (one of each for the bonus), and the guild was "hero on the half shell." Got a bonus for running a 5 min fate. Heck there are lower levels where something like Deepcroft or Copperbell are enough XP to level up without doing anything else. To me, one 20-30 min dungeon can be much more productive than sprinting or riding around the map, looking for fates. In two weeks, I leveled an ARC, CNJ, and THM running very few fates. When you get up into the levels that take over 300,000 XP, running fates in a place like Drageon's Head or Mor Dona become productive.

All that said, the places you mentioned are full of Atma farmers when I go there, so while I'm waiting for a roulette, I can follow them fate2fate and feel productive in the meantime.

I actually had a 3ish month break at one point between when FATE farming was the main method of levelling and when dungeon XP was boosted. I'd have to also vote for doing dungeons over FATEs. I've actually levelled twice in one dungeon run once or twice, likely in Haukke Manor around level 28 (when it unlocks), doing a full run killing every monster in the dungeon for XP and eating food, having a rested bonus on my full XP bar, and having the FC XP boost buff.
