Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
Yes! If it's a delay for the sake of delaying, in the sense that it adds nothing to the patch, I am not happy (hence my feelings on this patch).
If however it's delayed because more is being added to it, that's fine, understandable and acceptable.
All Right! We can haz patch date. Really excited for this updateThough honestly, a little later than I expected, but perhaps it is a step to lesson the amount of "grey" time between 1.18-1.19, it seemed he was worried about that period himself, where we would be playing in-between unpolished systems.
I can only imagine the heat Yoshi is getting from his superiors for this long time between patches, so there is really no reason for us to give him a second thrashing! Besides, even though we are lowly forum-goers, a little support to the dev team can go a long way. I do not think he was given 200 stout men, 500 million yen, and told "take your time Yoshi! let us know when you think it is ready to charge, call us- we wont call you, just let us know anything you need."
I am not Yoshi's boss (surprise), so I will not say what I think is an acceptable time table to follow, or how he should be running things, because really I have no clue what's going on over there. I shall only stick to my arduous role of adventuring! and giving feedback on the patches themselves, and not give feedback on the Letters From the Producer and on the dates when we get the patches.
And please realize we are no replacement for a professional QA team. A bad day at QA testing could easily have you submitting 2-300 bug reports, and sorting them based on severity from cosmetic to omg my computer is on fire! and each needing a highly detailed report. Dunno bout you guys, but I don't want to do that for free lol I'll wait gladly for the polished patches![]()
July 21st is still pretty damn close to mid July.Yoshi stated in the letter xi dated 6/14/11 they were finished with the 1st raid, with the 2nd close on it's heals. They knew then, they were planning on mid July for this patch release. Which we all know now is 100% false. It's hard to take their word, with thir current track record. Something seems off.
Ahh... Know I know, it's his perception of time. He should have stuck to his guns about not stating a time frame with being 100% positive, at least then I could respect the man more, and have more patience with him. I know he is caught in-between a rock and a hard place though, holding 2, 7 off suit sux's balls.
But come on even his date, and his 1st specific date that is greater then 3 days in advance letter no less, has a leeway of 1-2 days, so it's really between July 21st - 23rd.
I would be happy, and would gain more respect for the man, and team if they stated, "I know I F***ed up about the previous time frame, but we can't seem to get s*** straighten out, with out scrapping the entire game and starting from scratch. Tanaka's team royally f***ed things up...Big time "
Throwing Tanaka under the bus(possibly again) wouldn't explain anything. Cursing is unprofessional, and the words imply that scarpping the game is a viable option that's moving around the business. Bad idea, and bad press.Yoshi stated in the letter xi dated 6/14/11 they were finished with the 1st raid, with the 2nd close on it's heals. Actually, yes. I like this idea. More info is always good. You expected them to say
"Well. the function controlling the spawining of the boss based on the objectives fullfilled could use some tweaking, not to mention our rebalancing of Emulate seems a bit off and we're trying out a new formula. The new planned buyback feature has also been added to this patch, and therefore we included it in our tests, and we also need to fiddle a bit with the setMonsterSize() function so we can make enemies even bigger" ?
