Scholar abilities cancelling each other out.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I thought I'd make a post anyway please let me know if it has been addressed already.

If you have cast Sacred Soil and proceed to cast Shadow Flare it will cancel the Sacred Soil regardless of how much time was left on the ability and the same thing happens vice versa, it's pretty stupid that I can't have both of these spells up at the same time as they are both pretty useful.

I don't believe this is a bug, but they should update the skill description of both Shadow Flare and Sacred Soil.

Apparently you can only have one field-type aoe out, probably as a way to prevent multiple Shadow Flares or multiple Sacred Soils.

No, it is not a bug, it was designed that way. Fey glow and fey light from Selene also cancels each other out.

I can see why Fey glow and Fey light would cancel each other out, I just don't understand why Shadowflare which is a damaging Arcanist ability should cancel a Scholar ability, if it is the case that you can only have one ground AOE spell active they should have that in the description at least

Well Sacred Soil has a rather long CD so it's not like you can recast it and I assumed Shadow Flare once recast would just refresh or do you mean that there can only be one of these spells on the ground so you're kinda screwed if you get two Summoners and a Scholar in a group. To me it seems a little unfair but it's not that big a deal just wanted to point it out

Sacred Soil and Shadow Flare occupy the same buff slot. It's been doing this since launch and is intended. What most people agree on is that the tooltips should mention their mutual exclusivity.

Thanks for linking this though I still feel like this is more of an oversight, if it has been around since the start I guess they don't consider it a bug or enough of a problem to fix, either way they should update the tool tip.
