Blamed for sell on market?

I usually undercut anything I put up for sale on the market by around 1000 gil minimum. If it's a really high priced item (150 to 200k) I often undercut by 10 to 15k.

Im not gonna spend hours playing the drop 1 gil pissing match with anyone. That's why these greedy ass crafters want people to only undercut by 1 gil. That way they can hopefully come right behind you before anyone buys yours and undercut it by 1 gil.

Undercut it by enough, and their greed wont allow em to match it. If they buy mine up, great! that's what I wanted to happen. At that point, I put even more up for sale at an even lower price.

Too many crafters in this game have some sort of wannabe "gatekeeper" syndrome. News flash, your crap isn't unique...get over it. It's all about the cheapest price...

But just to throw slat on the wound, In the real world, the undercutter is Walmart, which is actually DESTROYING our market economy as it drives others out of business, while refusing to pay it's employees high enough wages so that they can actually shop elsewhere, thus being that "price setter" you seem to dislike so much.

Walmart hater

All I know is when I want to buy something cheap, I go to Walmart. However, whenever I want to buy quality goods, I go elsewhere. So I really don't see what Walmart has to do with FFXIV markets. Walmart isn't a price setter. They sell items at a penny less than their competitors and advertise that they have the lowest prices. They aren't setting the market price. Supply and demand is. Be careful when regurgitating hate. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

On a related note, why is it that some HQ Items for sale on the Market Boards have NO Crafter Name attached to them?

When I shop for some HQ Items (a Helm, Wand, etc.) I sometimes see the section blank (where a Crafter Name should be). Bug? Or how did they get around that?

You can obtain HQ items from retainers, and those have no name on them.

In fact, in the real world any agreement with other sellers (at least in Australia) to fix prices at around a certain price is collusion and is illegal.

Stuff like food and potions that stack will also lose the crafter name if you stack stuff you made on top of stuff someone else made, I believe.

This is true, but the game realm doesn't suffer from the same issues that the real world does. In FFXIV, I can just create goods from thin air. In the real world, I can't just keep dropping my prices or I'd quickly go broke.

Wait, isn't it the retainer's name that's usually on the market board in your place? How is it that you get picked out from that?

EDIT: I derped, so it's the crafter's name on the item that gets targeted, not the name of the seller. IGNORE MEEEEEE!

think of it as pvp zone for crafters and gatherers.
