Oh I got it so rather than waiting to sell an item for the price that it is already listed at you would rather screw the person over who has had it listed for however long by lowering the price by 1 gil. This isn't much better than what the other person is doing.

Why not just list it at the same price and be fair to the lowest priced person? This 1 gil lower is the start of the mentality that lead to driving the price down to begin with.

What happen is, people can check who made X item easily even if your retainer dont have your name, here's a screenshot example:

If made by: XXX XXX is hidden from markets I think some drama stuff can be solved, is not a bug, but something that should be fixed.

Depends why it's not selling. Those i90s aren't for everyone, and so there is a tendency to sell slow, but it's not because of price. There just isn't a line-up of buyers. When someone does go to buy i90s, it's for specific needs and they generally have the gil to do it. I've sold i90's to some of the richest players looking to fill their acc needs, or other stuff like gearing up alt jobs or putting piety on blm, etc.

Heavy Wolfram is also a special case because it's an investment; I'd rather get an i90 tank instantly ready for a mil or so for faster expert roulette queues and the gil bonus is always on tank so it pays off in time.

You're forgetting that everything has a cost to make/obtain in the first place.

Bluebird minions go for a high price not because they cost so much to obtain (they are free), but because they are considerably rare.

3 star gear goes for a high price not because they cost a ton to make (you can harvest and craft all the ingridents and pay very little to make the item), but because of the time involved in making them.

The problem I have with the market board is that very little stuff has true value. You can just run a dungeon and get better equipment that way.

To people who do use the market board, it's always the true value.

Remember the old saying, "something is only worth as much as another person is willing to pay you for it"

Just look at the sell history. If people buy it around this price, then the price is right.
And if you are unsure, you can still check XIVdb.com to see if a NPC sell it cheaper.

Undercutting is a big problem. It don't end wtih undercutting players, but also undercutting NPC with selling it for less than a NPC would give you, crashing the price for this item.

protip: Make your retainers name something like "Aabaabaa" When something is the same price, the game goes by alphabetic order. Then you don't have to undercut

There's what is called "polite" undercutting, to be the first on the list, and there is "stupid" undercutting, that destroys the market value of an item.

Player A: sells item for 1000g
Player B: sells same item for 999g <---- this guy gets it
Player C: sells the same item for 998g <---- this guy also gets it

Player D: sells the same item for 500g <---- this guy is stupid
Player E: sells the same item for 499g <---- dragged by player D, he and everyone below him are destroying the market value of the item.

If one is able or sees the undercutting fast, you can buy the item and re-sell it for a higher value....but if get 20-30 players undercutting themselves by huge % it's a risky move.
