Non Pimped Gear Recipe Gear Rotation Help

Most of the searches here have me overly confused (a usual state of mine for sure) regarding **40 durability rotations. I'm trying to unlock some recipe books, for example need HQ Hard Hippo Leather for LTW. My gear isn't all melded to max, cp is probably a little lacking. That said what is a decent suggested rotation? I'm not looking for 100% by any means just want to maximize my potential without spending a fortune for materia. Right now I try: CZ, IQ, SH2, WN2 then back and forth between CS2 & HT and use Manipulation at some point, then GS, BB and finish with CS2. I keep running out of durability/cp and can only get to about 20-40% chance of hq. Is there a better rotation or skill I'm not using that I should be, which materia is a necessity if I'm going to spend some to upgrade a few things? Oh and Excellent almost always equals "Fail" for me, even with SH2. Is that a low control or craftsmanship rating thing? Or am I just unlucky?

I should clarify that I do have the Artisan Specs, maxed out my belt & jewelery so i can exchange between classes and the rest is HQ gear without melds. I like to go back and forth between classes and haven't spent a ton to pimp out. SO for example LTW pants/gloves have no materia, but the rings are maxed. Sorry if that's confusing.

Tried to delete post because I found some better rotations, but couldn't figure out how. Sorry, but if you are reading this - can you let me know if there's an answer to hasty touch/bb excellent condition = "synthesis fails"? Seems to happen almost 50% of the time condition is excellent, and innovation never works for me. Is that something impacted by a possibly low control/craftsmanship stat? Anything I can do to improve that?

Keep forgetting to use CP food, at work now gonna try when I get home. I think my base stats are good enough to attempt (was using food to boost control/craftsmanship). Gonna skip using innovation, seems to never work and I waste a turn, CP and Great Strides. Also going to make sure to use HQ material (for Hard Hippo that's Hippo Leather). CZ, IQ, SH2, WN2, HT x 4, ST 2, HT x 3, Manipulation, ST2, GS,, Ingenuity 2, BB, CS2. Not sure if that will work, but better than what I was doing I think. Excellent is my nemesis though. And also afraid this won't get me to completion (control looks better, fearful the actual progress might not be enough). Stinks wasting 9 animal fat, takes forever to get those things.

Excellent shouldn't be your nemesis. The only time it can even be a problem is if it pops up in the step before BB - and if it does, simply use BB before you use Ing 2. The boost to quality Ing 2 gives you is FAR less than the boost Excellent quality gives you, so you still come out ahead.

I guess it could also mess up the HT following WN2 or SH2, but those are just hasties so the loss of quality should barely be noticable.

If you want to "test" to ensure you will get to completion, run through your rotation up to GS, and then use Reclaim instead of GS. If it fails, you will have a 90% chance of getting your ingreds back. If it succeeds, you likely will not HQ the synth, but a NQ Hard Hippogryph Leather is hardly a useless item - you can use it to craft double-star goods to sell for profit.

I use this 347/340/381CP rotation. It isn't 100%, but 99% isn't bad and I have done over thousands of 40 dura HQs with it.

I won't worry about excellent at all, have only seen it happen <10 times after thousands of crafts.

So you can craft items equivalent to receive your ilvl70 head piece AND your ilvl70 primary for that matter, but can't craft two-star items? ::scratches head::

You know what's so overpowered in this game, that they just HAD to leave out?
    -Buffing during cutscenes.
    -Pets receiving the Protect buff.
-A blacklist with more than a 200 player capacity.
-Filtering the flying text for your own numbers.
-A better way to organize and sort through your macros.

Innovation is +50% to your base Control; it doesn't factor in Inner Quiet.

It's the same as have 2½ more ticks on your Inner Quiet for 3 steps.
