It's been a long while since I've posted anything on this topic, with an interview Phil Spencer gave to IGN about this topic back in September, he pretty much shot the idea of XIV coming to the XBOX anytime soon down, and shifted focus on their games collection coming this past Fall/Winter.

However, today they announced that Rocket League would allow for Cross Platform play right now with PC but with other platforms in the future. http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/14/112...play-announced

From his recent comments, this sounds like the last issue holding FFXIV back from the XB1 might finally be resolved.

Just thought I would share, crossing my fingers that we'll see this happen this year.

I'm curious with the new Windows 10 info from the Microsoft's conference yesterday (1/21/2015) if that might have any impact on bringing FFXIV over to the Xbox One. If they are allowing for cross platform play to the PC, hopefully they will change their minds about having XIV on the system. That and that the XB1 will be running windows 10, so perhaps their will be a way we can just install the PC version directly. (that would be crazy if they let us do that)

Anyway, we haven't heard any new info about that, didn't know if there was an official position from the devs.

An article on Massively brought hope yet that we will see Final Fantasy XIV branch out to other platforms. I've been a big supporter of this idea for quite some time, and regardless of your opinion, having XIV brought to more platforms is good for the game.

That being said, this sounds like great news, and with Microsoft's new feedback site our voice could be louder then ever. We have two active ways to voice your support to Microsoft.

Just an update on our progress:

Feedback.xbox.com merged my original post with another post for cross platform play: https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/25...rm-multiplayer and has several more votes. Now sitting at 1288.

We are still making progress. In the latest interview on Duel Shockers http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/08/...and-much-more/ Yoshi-P reiterated that they are still talking with Microsoft, and that our support is needed if we want to see this game ported to that platform.

Just an update on our number:

1. For change.org petition we just need 14 more signatures.
2. For the Cross Platform Support on Xbox Feedback, they are up to 1754 votes
3. And for the FFXIV port on Feedback, they are up to 176 Votes

There are other feedback options for FFXIV on Xbox One on those sites as well, #2 was all about FFXIV and cross platform and was merged with another cross platform feedback request.

Even if you don't plan to own an X1, or don't care for Microsoft, please vote, provide feedback and support Yoshi-P.

I don't think final fantasy can play well on a VCR, but I could be wrong. I rather see ff14 come to the wii-u at least then you can use the game pad as a touchpad for the ui. Plus you can still have 720p.

Agree about the Wii U. However, one issue is storage space. Another miss-step by Nintendo IMO. But yes, the game would play well on the gamepad.

good thing they made it so you can hook up an external hd then. The harddrive on it is smaller to keep costs low, not everyone uses a lot of storage.

I'd even love to hack the gamepad to play on PC. I saw something out there, but it wasn't quite right... Perhaps I'll need to do something about that.

On topic, I don't really care if it goes to Xbox One or not, they're the ones playing hardball about no cross-platform gaming allowed. A Realm Reborn has been a bigger success than most people saw coming, SE should just wait for Microsoft to come to them rather than vice versa. They're the ones missing out.
