So the Mamool Ja aren't getting any beast tribe quests? I've been intrigued by them since I saw one queuing up at the arcanist guild in Limsa.Q27: Will new beast tribe quests be added in patch 2.3?
A27: The only beast tribe remaining is the Ixali and this will be added in patch 2.35. The Ixali beast tribe quests will be a bit different from what you've seen up to this point and will have a focus on crafting. Completing all beast tribe quests will unlock a new quest.
By the way, love the crafting focus for Ixali quests!
As I've gathered.. The Mamool Ja are far from being as organised as the other beast tribes, owing to a very mercenary nature, and as such travelling in smaller bands, or even on their own.. Rather than settling down and staking claim to an area (hence the lack of any significant Mamool Ja populated area a lá O'ghomoro/Natalan/Sapsa/etc.).
To top it off, it seems that there isn't all too much conflict with them on the larger scale.. We see a bit of conflict near the Bronze Lake Spa resort, although that seems to be because of the Mamool Ja reeking and thus preventing the other patrons of the spa from enjoying themselves. Which isn't exactly cause for the same type of conflict that we have with the other beastmen.
Could also be because some of them are all pervy and trying to spy on the women at the spa. Oh I know, make the Mamool Ja quests focus on sightseeing.....but a different kind of sights! o.O
That makes sense Malrend, thanks for the response. I wonder about goblins and moogles too now though :P
LOL Amanda XD
I think the majority of goblins and moogles get along with the humanoid races (Roe/Hyur/Ele/Lala/Mi'q) and live amongst them, and that's why they don't have a Beast Tribe of their own - in contrast to the beastmen, who typically hate the humanoid races for various reasons. The Beast Tribes are unique in that they are small, splinter factions within each beastmen race that are attempting to co-exist with humanoids, and give them a chance.
Yoshi-P said the Goblins will get a rather lengthy storyline later on down the road.
Better include some bomb tossing.
I think it should be mentioned here that during one of the many random sidequests, an NPC mentions something about the Mamool Ja not being native to Eorzea and were brought in by the 5 races in an attempt to aid with the restoration and "cleaning up" after the Calamity. I forget which NPC and quest this was in but it was one of the ones in La Noscea from what I remember, it was either Eastern near Wineport or Upper near Bronze Lake.
Just given that, I don't think the Mamool Ja should have a set of beast tribe quests just yet, however if the devs intend on moving the game's time line along as we're playing (see Revenant's Toll expansions in a few previous patches) then I think it could possibly be an idea later on down the road. Possibly even allowing us to see their homeland here in Eorzea since Eorzea and Vana'diel are not the same planet or dimension according to the devs.
The FATE '9 to 5' in Eastern La Noscea specifically mentions that in it's description - the mamool'ja were brought to Eorzea to cover labour shortages following the Calamity. But they've since found themselves cast aside due to adventurers returning and taking over the 'jack-of-all-trades' jobs that they previously did. So they've started resorting to banditry to survive.
Really, I don't think we'll see any specific beast tribe quests for them at the moment, as they're too scattered and disorganized to feature such content. But maybe in the future if the mysterious western continent where they come from is opened up....
