    To be entirely honest, I'm just waiting for it to be something, anything. I don't care what direction they choose, I'm just tired of seeing them jump from one random fix to the next. It's not that I'm tired of waiting for an HD FFXI clone, which I've never wanted, it's just that I'm plain tired of waiting period. It's taken far too long for them to get virtually nowhere with this game.

    (Making monsters larger is NOT CONTENT. Adding level and aggression indicators is NOT CONTENT, adding an automatic version of the #1 on my keypad is again NOT CONTENT. Seriously SE, almost a year since CB and we're still getting 'fixes' rather than content. This is ridiculous.)

    To be fair, they added quests. Quite a few indeed.
    But indeed, the stamina gauge system wasn't half bad in theory - just poorly executed. Too many repetitive button presses in too short intevals. BUT: it would have worked like a charm if they included an auto-attack that doesn't consume any stamina.

    I still don't get why they ditched the system as a whole.

    All of which they're changing in the next few updates. Even the stuff they have added is still being 'fixed'.

    Yes, yes. But for the better I think. They are AWESOMELY AMAZINGLY HILARIOUSLY slow at it, though ^.^/

    Edit: It is argued that sweeping changes take their time. But sometimes it looks like they polish small corners with a toothpick instead of using a vaccum cleaner to get rid of the tons of sand on the carpet.

    I'm not so sure, when I see something added to previous content at a later date it makes me think they're just pandering to a group of customers rather than intentionally implementing the original thing as a part of some grand vision or design.

    For example, SP was fairly clearly never intended to be a part of side quests when they were released. This is evidenced by the fact that when side quests were originally released, not even the monsters you had to kill for them gave you any SP.

    FFXI is a pretty much a standered for what we expected it to be but theres alot we expect FFXIV to be by itself also like new battle system to be one of them.

    Theres few aspects FFXI was better in someways and that dosnt mean FFXIV cant copy them without adding there own improvements to the system, like for player searching they have there own idea already but its a bit of a hassel to search each zone selection for a party. What would fix this is a search text option like what FFXI had. /sea all lv38-42. This would search everyone ingame between those ranks. They could also add a Seek Party option. This would make it faster.

    I dont care what FFXIV turns out to be just hoping its has tons of content for both hardcore, casual and fixs theres problems.

    I think right now what the game needs is major tweeks on the guildleves (Lower SP gain) and bring group partying out and adjust all enemys for exping. I personally think the game is too fast paced at its currect Beta devloped stage anyway. Its mainly why some people are upset that they did everything in the game besides level every other class to rank50.

    Hoping they add more then just 2 Raids... I dont care if its the same zone just add diffrent types of raids.

    They added Quests but they show each reward and every reward they show is useless. This makes the player not do the quest which beats the purpose of adding it in the game. Its just useless content unless they plan to add Quest Fame. Do more and more useless quests to build up your fame and unlock better quests with better rewards.

    Yoshida is not remaking FFXIV for us on the boards here. The game is not going to be made into XI 2.0 nor is it going to be the base XIV -- only with more content. And this is a good thing.

    No doubt after Yoshida took over from the failed launch and replaced Tanaka, he must have begun to analyze why the game was so unpopular; glaring technical shortcomings notwithstanding. Many people chimed in on the player polls, and continue to do so now with the forums. However, a lot of people here don't seem to want to accept that his plan is for the bigger picture, not just for those of us who stuck around.

    The current, small playerbase will not save XIV, no matter how happy it's made. Remaking XIV in XI's shadow will not save this game. Sticking to Tanaka's vision will not save this game. The only way to save this game is to make it marketable to as many people as possible. How do we know this? Well, besides the obvious fact that more subs = more profits = more successful, Yoshida has already announced changes made to appeal to a wider playerbase.
    * Auto-attack
    * Enmity gauge
    * Instanced dungeons & Raids
    * More solo friendly

    That's not to say that we're going to be overlooked. Yoshida's vision includes gameplay for all styles. But ultimately, he is looking at the bigger picture, and that is more people playing. On a huge scale.

    Oh, and they are, of course, working as fast as they can. However, they're not going to make the major mistake the previous administration did and rush it out the door. It will take time. So to all of you who are threatining to leave if 1.18 doesn't meet up with your exacting standards, or because we're getting auto-attack or an enmity gauge, sorry... you're not part of the bigger picture. Deal with it.

    I will say this though to all you guys chomping at the bit. Take a few steps back for a while. Play other games until all these battle changes are hammered out. Check up on the game every now and then, and give the devs some good, constructive feedback. You'd be amazed how much easier it is to follow XIV's progress from a distance, rather than going crazy waiting every day.
    Lol. This is exactly what I was talking about in another thread.

    People can't fathom what they don't know.

    Dungeon? So like... 5 man dungeons where the first bosses loot sucks compared to final bosses loot? And you steamroll this over and over for lowbies?
    Raid? So like... 10-20+ man raids where they have a cooldown and the last few bosses drop tier gear and only high-end game LSs can complete the hardest raids?

    People can ONLY compare to what they've played/experienced in the past. But they can't understand that you can't immitate an experience and get the same feeling. This is why Yoshida is overhauling the game. To create the potentially revolutionary game we all wanted at launch.

    For the hundreds of people that complained about the terms raid and dungeon and how the number of people in an instance determines if it's a raid or a dungeon. Lara Croft Tomb Raider is just one skinny chick and she raids 24/7... INB4ZOMFGHOWCANUSOLOARAID!?!?!ITMAKESNOSENSE!!!

    I think he already said that he's going to implement it later.
