Anyone who is fating for alexandrite must be very masochistic. Just do the daily and occasionally farm mytho.

While I do agree with OP about the fate grinding (I felt the same way about getting the shards) honestly tho what are the alternatives? Make the shards cost 1000 myth each? Yay bray farming is sooo much better. Make them cost 250k gil each? Yes. Lets make it easy for the rich. Hard for the poor. Have them do mindless quests requiring teleports and cutscenes? That's way too easy AND boring. The fate idea (while completely annoying and grinding) is the best option, but they could have tweaked the drop rate a little bit to help out the unlucky ones.
I think doing a specific FATE in each of the twelve zones would have been perfectly fine seeing as Animus and Novus are fairly invested time sinks as well, and they're a lot more fun. It would still be waiting for 12 FATEs to spawn for however many jobs you have. The only way I think I'd be okay with this RNG crap would be if it applied to all jobs instead of having to repeat it for every single one. While I do agree with OP about the fate grinding (I felt the same way about getting the shards) honestly tho what are the alternatives?
