i don't think i'm following you on this part. are you assuming fresh 50s are trying to gear up in myth immediately? if so, i don't believe this is intended. the lower post game dungeons, wp and ak as examples are the starting point to the post game grind for gear. it's progressive in the sense that these dungeons drop i60 gear and 1, maybe even 2 fresh 50s hardly make a difference here unless one of them is a tank trying to hold threat vs 2 myth+ geared dps. but you farm for i60, slowly making your way up to farming for i70, all while earning myth and even soldiery in the process.

Well Kuroyuki no offense and no insult but you might need to hurry with your myth in general because come bounty system the hero gear is dropping to a different currency type, or from the bounty period so if gear is your concern you won't have time to be worried about gil unless your just going to get i90 crafted. But don't worry it all will work out your just in the awkward phase transition because your in the gap between new systems, similar to how people could not get castrum finished because SR AK was the thing so not enough people to do Castrum. It is actually less of a grind to get darklight now then it was when they were purchased barring for people who need it to turn in for seals with out concern for others but going to be honest your the first person I have seen ousted out of duty finder for not wanting to do a speed run most just cry and moan.

I don't understand these people that complain about gil. There is very little you actually need to spend gil on in this game. From 1-50 on a battle class you literally don't have to spend a thing except for teleports and possibly an occasional repair for those really good green dungeon drops that you keep a lot longer than the white trash drops.

Even at level 50 (and I've been level 50 on my first job since idk, September of last year, maybe November?) there isn't a whole lot you have to spend gil on except for your repair bills and teleports. I started as a fresh player during the betas, even so, I didn't really start accumulating gil very well until about 2.2 or whenever it was they introduced Beast Tribe quests and the Duty Roulette. Man with those two things alone you make a decent amount of gil just off of mobs and completion of the dailies. That doesn't take into account the drops you might get from those dungeons that you can sell on the Market Board, or turn in for Grand Company seals (which in turn can be used to buy crafting mats that sell on the AH for a decent amount of extra gil income).

I bought a few materia last week and right before that I was almost at my current self goal of reaching 4 million. Well after that I lost about 200-300k and thought It might take me a bit to make that back up. Well nope, I hit my 4m mark a few days ago actually. I think it took a week or less to make up my losses.

I also Mine up certain materials that sell pretty decently on the market board. I mine them up while I am mining for my Treasure Maps, something I do every day. I typically stop after getting the map I want, or shortly thereafter. The materials I sell don't go for a lot, usually 100 gil per NQ and if I'm lucky 200 gil per HQ. Not much when you think about it, but I sell these in bulk (yet split the stacks to 33) and sell them out of 3 retainers so it doesn't look like it's all 1 person selling a mass amount of materials. The tactic works very well. Last time I checked I was approaching 4.1M. Oh and I've donated 1M to my FC already, outside of what I have on me.

Back to Treasure Maps, I also do these once a week or every two weeks, depending on when some people in a LS I am part of want to do a Treasure Hunt run. Gil accumulates pretty fast when you've got 4-8 players each with at least a map or two, or if they are like me they have 6 (or more) to use (talking about Piesteskin). Then you take into account the rare drops you might get from those maps that you can sell on the Market Board and make even more gil. I love Treasure Hunting! Fantastic and fun. Oh and I also get about 4-5 Boarskin maps too and do those solo as well.

Usually after I meet a gil goal, I wait til I get 200k over that goal and donate 200k to my FC then make a new goal, reach it, and then donate the next 200k to my FC. It's been working so far.

I have less than a million, but than again, I bought my craft utensils instead of farming them

a lot ofpeople seem to have problems getting over a million though, even without buying everything they think is shiny

people just haven't learned the ins and outs of making quick or easy gil (or saving it). like not npc'ing every thing you get off of trash, as some of those items can be worth easy gil, especially if you have an excess amount of it. finish spirit bonding your gear before you toss on an upgrade, the materia might be worth something, especially now with novus quest. if you're really struggling acquiring gil, don't teleport a map or 2 over, spend the couple minutes extra on your chocobo. watch the market board for cheap (under 1k gil) accessories with an ilvl of 46+ to spirit bond for tier 3 materia.
after i had quit (gave away all my gil/valuables when i left) and returned, i used these methods to make 700k in about 10 days.

yeah I know some of those things. For some spirit bonds I am just to lazy. Especially as crafter some of the higher gears take extremely long to spirit bond even with all spiritbod+ you can spare without gimping yourself. With DoW classes I never had this problem (and No I dont go Spirit Bonding in CT unless the gear I use is best I have atm)

Well that depends on how you look at it. I have 600k stashed away and maybe 60k on me but I am also not burning my seals on things like coke to sell on the market or make into darksteel ingots which fly off my retainer on balmung. I have maybe 1000 gil of my own profit on me all the rest is on my retainers from ventures and attempts made prior (market board investments not ventures as in retainer ventures). I do not actively seek to make gil because there is nothing I want it could give me, I'm leveling my off crafts to get a good rotation for my master tool and I am making the mats for leves as I go so even though I could easily get over a million I don't need to. Now I might to purchase a few company rooms for newer free company members but the difficulty is on how people specifically play more so then actual ability. Most like me find it very boring to just chase gil, even though things like mining and craft I enjoy and can use to make gil. It is harder (much easier now) for those that only dungeon dive though to compete in the actual numbers game from 0 - 1mil some will always make it sound easier then it is because of their mentality torwards the game. Just like 1500 myth in 1 day for me is exhausting but if I was willing to stand my ground and 6min grind thats 3 hours.

Well, my WHM will complete his Mytho gear today and my BLM is almost done with Soldiery, and I have lots of spare i70s and CT/T1/T2 stuff for other classes so I'm fine.

It just feels like SE is making this game much more money relevant, and that scares me. It will just increase the number of spammers. It also makes me mad that I can't do stuff like gardening and breeding just because my FC does not have millions for a house. I'm fine with my money but I think money will become much more another grind. I'm afraid that with 2.5 everyone will need billions to to anything past 50, bots will roam the lands and people who don't tag along the money game won't be picked into groups anymore.

You can get enough myth to buy some pieces of ilvl90 gear just from running a few days of roulettes. I don't see the issue here.
